After doing some thorough research, is Ghosts and Goblins the first game to include stripping/clothing damage in an action game? Is Toy Pop the first game (Namco, 1986) to include the same on a female character (in its case, the protagonist)?

And why is this such a great mechanic? Let's compile a list of every game to include it.

For reference, that would make the girl on the right, as far as I can tell, the first girl you could strip in vidya.

This is, however, excluding strip mahjong games.

Just took a break from SK Burst. Shinovi versus is already in the mail.

Pics of her stripped?

Has the spirit of old /v/ visited us? Last time we had a nice discussion on the origins of red orbs in hack-n-slash games.

Surprisingly harder to find than I had anticipated. I'll have to boot up mame in a moment to grab some, there doesn't seem to be anything on google.

Either way, don't get your hopes up for anything too sexy. This is how the game looks (pic is using male character)

Ah, nevermind -- here's the sprites of Acha both clothed and in her underwear.

That's daym sexy, man. I've got a pixel art fetish, no joke.

Dude, Akiba's Trip wasn't an amazing game by a long stretch, and the stripping mechanic wasn't great or very fun outside of collecting the strip pictures like what you posted.

Also Shion is best girl.

I'm currently playing through Akiba's Trip 2 right now.

This combat is horrible, but I can't help but kind of enjoy it.

I agree.

What can I say. Everything you posted is true. I personally think Nana is the best girl, just because she's the only one with a semblance of a personality thanks to her weird conversation feature.

Shinovi Versus is legitimately great however. And to keep contributing, Demon Master Chris has pretty good strip (and dressup) mechanics.
>>
>>268620104
How's the story? I've seen screenshots that look funny.
>>
>>268619972
Its deeply customizable and a tribute to otaku. If you're into otaku culture you're into Akibas Strip
>>
>>268620104
What's it like? I enjoyed Drakengard 1 back in my time so I'm pretty much omnivorous when it comes to hack and slashes.
>>
>>268620104

It is rather monotonous. Be sure to do the arena challenges to unlock the stripping techniques, which make mass-stripping sequences a little more entertaining to watch.

Just that. Stupid and funny. I quite like the dialogue, but I enjoy the game overall just because it scratches my collector's itch. So much weird shit in the game to collect and upgrade.

>>268620437
Very basic beat em up combat, location-based. You need to wear down individual clothing parts and then rip them off (and collect them).

It's serviceable, but if you're exclusively interested in the combat, not worth getting the game for.

Overall I enjoy the game though.

>>268620348
It's pretty dumb fun, it's sort of like a less deep WaySam in regards to gameplay

Very campy, usually doesn't take itself seriously at all and panders to the otaku/weeb crowd with its dialogue. And mechanically it's very repetitive: go to town, strip vampires, back to cafe, dialogue options, repeat.

I personally enjoyed it enough to finish three endings, though. And every now and then the VA will create a surprisingly good scene, example being Shion's true route.
>>
I want to get this, but I feel like I could never play it in peace because the only TV in my apartment is in the living room, and I've got 3 roommates, all very judgmental people.
>>
>>268621442
Do you not have a vita?
>>
>>268621442

I suppose the Vita version is out of the question?

If so I'd say you still aren't missing anything life-changing. On the other hand, be a man and ignore what those fucks think of your vampire stripping game.

There's some minor stuff here and there, but its not that much. Like you can come across a gothic lolita posing or a not-vampire making out with a normal person, things like that.

I've got a PSTV and PS3.

You've got a point.
I'm guessing the two versions are about the same?
>>
>>268622364
PS3 version is worse. PSTVwhy the fuck did you get that instead of an actual vita? can play it, though.
>>
Ar Tonelico III Has a "Purge" System where the girls lose clothes as they power up, if that counts.
>>
>>268622528
Totally counts. Forgot about this one, thanks for contributing!
>>
I'm still surprised this managed to get over to the US considering its source material. I'm also surprised by the fact that no SJWs complained about it.
>>
>>268622512
>>268622364
PS3 and PSV versions are the same thing for all intents and purposes.
>>
Some of Metal Slug's death animations has your clothes dissolve. In Metroid, the suit blows up and leaves Samus naked and vulnerable. That count?
>>
>>268622857
What about PS4?
>>
>>268622857
No. The PSV version is the original; the PS3 version, which is a port, suffers from slowdown.

>>268622973
Slightly better load times with less slowdown, but suffers from the same upscaling problems that the PS3 version does.
>>
>>268622825
Live under a rock? The first day it was even out they were bitching about the localization text. They've given up complaining about the lewdness because XSEED stopped falling for that bait however.

>>268622973
It'll fix frame rate issues and add a bunch of new features due to the better hardware. If you have a choice and can wait it's probably the better one to get.

>>268623114
The PSV version suffers the slowdown as well. There's no real difference overall.
>>
>>268623240
I'm aware of the trap thing, but they would have had a more legitimate case talking about KnJ.
>>
I'm pretty sure that the new Deception game had clothing destruction for the enemies, male and female.
>>
>>268622825
>>268623402
I assume they never noticed it's existence. It helps that the author of the manga is a woman.

How is Ghosts and Goblins Genesis/Mega Drive compared to NES/SNES?
I know SNES is probably best but I do not have a SNES, while I do have G'nG for Mega Drive on genuine cartridge and all.
Passed first level few times now. It really is challenging but the more you get hang of it - Champion's Road in 3Dworld really harkens back to NES days.
