Plus I wanted an XL anyway so now I can get a New 3DS XL instead of the old kind. Worked out pretty well for me.

I think it's worth mentioning that MH4 and Smash take so much longer to boot because the regular 3DS does a soft reboot to a mode where it assigns less memory for the OS.
Also, one of the four cores is most likely wasted on the head tracking for 3D.
