I know we're not supposed to talk positively about video games, but I played Vault of Glass for the first time last night, and I was pleasantly surprised.
Bungie said something along the lines of "the game is basically just a tutorial. Raids are where the game actually gets interesting." and I assumed that was just marketing speak spat out to get people excited for more boring shooting.
But I was wrong. The Vault is clever and complex and legitimately fun to play, and it bums me out that there are probably a lot of people who will never play it because the main game is so boring and they gave up.

Here's my question: The Vex are confusing weirdos, and their dungeon reflects that, which is why it's fun. There are puzzles because Vex are mysterious robots. I've had some person invite me when I was at the tower. The only problem was that he was using a Darth Vader voice changer and everyone that would join would leave immediately because they didn't like it.
That was the only time I've ever had even the remote possibility of getting into VoG.
What's objectively bad about it? It requires players to work together, communicate, and fill a role. There are new mechanics that augment the traditional gameplay without completely changing it.
It seems pretty well done to me.

This is simply poor game design. Bungie tried to go in many different directions with Destiny, it's too bad it was only a step or two, making it fail as an mmo and as an fps.

Vault of Glass was probably the only time I've ever seen a dungeon/raid be hard in any game. It's a ton of fun. Took us hours to finally down Atheon.

The game has a bug where it lets you play single or with others in the same classes or on diffrent difficulties.
Its not an intended behaviour, they will patch this later, problably 5 years from now, so before you start hating the game, wait until you get to experience how it was meant to be played, the real way.
First boss is a bulletsponge with waves and waves of enemies that have no mechanics besides a small add that you have to kill within a time limit but it doesn't move and is extremely easy to see until the boss' shield goes down. Once the shield is down the boss attacks yet can be easily avoided by hiding behind literally anything, and has no other mechanics besides teleporting around the room.
Second boss is another bulletsponge with only one mechanic being an alternate phase where players shoot the adds in a time limit, but with only two variations to the phase and the enemies spawning in the exact same locations each time, it's pretty fucking terrible.
Maybe it gets better on higher diffculties but from the stream I watched I was shocked at how bad it was.

Because the game made it difficult to play with my friends, there's no fucking local play for anything. I wanted to sit down with them and, you know, actually play WITH them, in person. But nope, we would all have to buy our own copy of Destiny and play in our separate homes. Too bad we don't all have the same console, either.
I loved Halo because I could sit down and play with up to three friends, on one TV with one console and copy of the game. We could make crazy custom games and our own maps, we could play online with other people or play the campaign together. Destiny has nothing that made Halo fun. It's a single-player grindfest with a completely broken loot system.
Not even the fucking Halo-style PVP has split-screen, so go fuck yourselves Bungie.
