The point he was trying to make is that Vader had a history as a Jedi which would explain him using a Jedi's weapon, if the lightsaber was strictly to be a tool of the Jedi, since he has familiarity with it from his prior field of work.

The theme of the show is rebellion. All of the characters are rebellious toward their respective cultural dynamic. Even the droid is rebellious. So it makes complete sense that a rebellious mando girl would be like that, or a pacifist who would be dead as fuck in short order (so that's obviously not a choice for a character in a show).
