I think Nintendo's HQ is in Germany and seeing as Bayo 2 is a much smaller release than something like MK8 I don't think they could afford shipping two different types of covers for Europe.

I have a degree of control and responsibility over shit I physically own, and choose to take that risk for the convenience and security of actually having a game on disc or cartridge.
If Steam suddenly shut down or removed some games, and half my library disappeared with it, that's totally out of my hands.
But I'm also the kind of guy who would rather own a physical book than read a digital copy, and still collects music albums for artists I'm a fan of. We probably just have different priorities and preferences, and there's nothing wrong with that.
