I played all of W101 with the gamepad only. It can be a tad annoying, having to switch menus on the gamepad, and deal with the micro areas with a mini screen on the already small gamepad, but it's absolutely worth playing through regardless of it's only on the gamepad. Control wise there's no problems I can remember so you're good there.
I thought Hyrule Warriors was going to be some huge buyer remorse, but that ended up being Destiny. I didn't think Hyrule Warriors would be so much fun, but it is, plus all those unlocks though Adventure Mode man. My friend and I have been playing it like non-stop and we still have a ways to go (not counting the DLC soon).
Playing that, Nintendoland, Game & Wario, and Wonderful 101. All while preparing for Bayonetta 2.

I bought one of these a couple days ago to see if W101 was as fun as everyone said it was. It wasn't. I got a little bit past the fight in the stadium and was pretty bored. Does it get less repetitive? It seems like all I do is draw a line then a circle then an L and repeat over and over. I don't even know if repetitive is the right word, it just can't keep my interest.
I uninstalled it and have been alternating between MH, DKCTF, and Wind Waker. MH has made this investment absolutely worth it. Currently farming rathians for poison weapons.

I felt like TW101 took awhile to get off it's feet. You spend a hell of a lot of the game unlocking abilities and it doesn't truly come together until you get almost all of them. That said it gradually picks up as you get more stuff, so I wouldn't say it's a case of "it gets good fifty hours in." The ending alone is worth playing for though so I'd give it a second shot.

It's fantastic. Personally my only issues were that on average the levels are too short and the game is fairly easy if your in any way decent at platformers but it plays so well, the soundtrack is amazing, it looks great in motion and there's a ton of content in the game.
As someone who typically isn't on board with Nintendo hardware, 3D world made me buy a wii u and I wasn't disappointed at all.

It's also really really fun to play so that's why people are hyped for it. "26 FRAMES PER SECOND DROP" yeah that sucks but it effects gameplay in a somewhat minimal way. "QUICK TIME EVENTS" unless they are everywhere and they are used for cheap deaths I couldn't care less. Around World 4 the difficulty starts to pick up significantly and the post-Bowser bonus worlds are pretty fucking hard, the final level is said to be the single hardest in a 3D Mario game, though I'd say some of the prankster comets beat it

There aren't many people who like the hack and slash genre who played the demo of the game and didn't find enjoyment. People like you just pull out bullshit like frame rate drops because you have too much of an emotional attachment for or against a specific console (piece of plastic) for a well crafted and high quality game. Firstly WO3 Hyper for Wii U is the worst version of it. Very extreme popup and coop as almost unplayable. (but it supports different screens for each player)
Singleplayer is sufficient, but really only worth it if you find it dirt cheap, otherwise get it for other systems. (there is Ultimate revision with more stuff)
About games itself - is pretty damn fun, even considering that I don't know half of characters, because I only played Dynasty Warriors before. And game made me interested in Samurai Warriors as well.
Gameplay itself while similar - shuffles things a little because you have team of 3 characters in battle, and you can switch between them any moment.
You can't equip another type of a weapon to a character tho, only upgrade it.
Story is a silly with a lot of time traveling. Mostly fighting vs monsters. With quite a few fun character interactions. And there are some characters from other games like Rachel, Ayane, Hayabusa, or even completely side characters like Jeanne D'Arc.
I'd recommend it, just not Wii U version, because of it being bad port. But there is higher chance that you can find it pretty cheap.
