Hell, I'm pretty sure Morton is the best MK8 character. Rosalina's just picked for aesthetic purposes and really it's not her fault you can't git gud at racing.
As for SSB4, pretty sure the 3DS' controls make for artificial difficult on timing and such. You might feel different on the console version.

That isn't a reason. The fact that she has positive matchups against every single character, can't be grabbed, has multiple hits and kill potential with Luma, and can cancel out the zoning game makes her the best.

Yeah, since most other games leave you in a lengthened crippled state. Aksys puppet characters stay down for a good 10 or 15 seconds, which is huge due to the damage and combo potential that exists in those games. It also affected Ice Climbers for obvious reasons. I'm saying it doesn't affect Rosalina as much since you aren't gonna outright destroy her while Luma is regenerating, and the fact that Luma barely takes any time at all to respawn in the first place.

Rosalina still has decent air game without Luma. To say she's complete horseshit because her puppet is down for a couple seconds is retarded. That and you can't really get in on Rosalina without being punished anyway as long as Luma is out. So you dash in, kill Luma, Rosalina throws you off the stage as a punish, and hops around for 10 or so seconds until she rinses and repeats.

I think it's just growing up. I'm 19, so I was just about 12 when they introduced Lucario, and it really didn't feel any different from any other Pokemon they gave focus to in the games or cartoon. I guess it just becomes annoying when your old favorites slowly become irrelevant and you realize how much Pokemon popularity is based on careful design and marketing.

Palutena isn't bad. She's actually really good; hell, every character is good (still hate the clones though). Just takes time to actually learn how to use some more than others. The game is surprisingly balanced, the only real thing is that some characters are easier to use off the bat ( such as Zero Suit, Mac, and Sheik) since they're traits give newbies a better chance at winning that is really only because of online lag. Which is where all these stupid list come from right now, making it even more retarded to say who is better or worse.

Let's address the issues of Daisy
1) While it's true she was a stand in for Peach, she didn't have a Super Mario Bros. 2-esque game to define her traits
2) The Super Mario Land team decided to focus on Wario and was done with trying to craft Super Mario platformers let alone define Daisy as a character when they had to chance.
3) While it's true Camelot and Mario Party 3 got her off the bus, it was mostly the tacked on lore of the Takahashi bros trying to fill in the gaps of what kind of character she's supposed to be. The tomboy shit was practically an afterthought.
4) Daisy has not shown up in one Mario platformer game since Super Mario Land because Peach was often getting kidnapped and most of the events surrounding SML1 or 2 are never brought up in the console or NSMB series let alone RPGs.
When you really think about it, Daisy was never truly replaced as anything but Luigi's object of desire.
