I've been playing Empire at War: Forces of Corruption
And holy shit are the Consortium overpowered. They got both the intel/tactical side the Rebels have and the sheer power/numbers/finance Empire has. They have the best spaceships and the best units.
It doesn't matter that they're slightly more expensive when they have an 1800 credits tank that can stand up to both AT-ATs and T-4B while being both anti-infantry AND anti-aircraft

Battlefront 2 obviously. I remember playing as jango on kamino online and someone else playing as obi wan and we had the most epic fight in the cloning room. After rigorous flipping and jetpacking around, i emerged victorious. Good times.
I liked playing Empire at War with the expanded universe mod.
Something about going up the tech tree and turning the Rebel alliance into the new republic made the game I was playing with a friend feel chaotic.
Halfway through the campaign we started building Droid armies on former CIS planets so we can throw entire armies of blaster sponges at each other.

You'd spend the whole day exploring Endor with your rag-tag team. Every so often you would take a break, a ranger in your group would set up a nice camp while others clear the perimeter. You'd have a doctor and entertainer with you who would treat to your wounds and sing a few songs, play an instrument or dance to ease your mind.
Maybe a stranger would find his way into your camp and you would take him along after talking for a bit.
After returning you would head into the local cantina where you see your favorite cute Twi'Lek girl dancing. You two would talk and she'd ask about your adventure. Finally she'd whisper that she'd like to take it to a room in the back where it's quiet and you'd go there. The tip would be generous.

I'm really peeved and pretty surprised that they didn't give the Empire and Rebels a similar ability to Corruption. Fear and Hope respectively would have worked very well.
Even still, in the Galactic conquest mode, or whatever it's called, if you're playing as the Empire it is game-set-match once you build the Death Start II and the Executor.
Fuck those Mass Driver ships that the Consortium has though. They are so powerful it is ridiculous.

No it wasn't, it was that the Emperor basically never set up a proper Series-of-Succession in case of the event of his death. In fact, he deliberately tried to play high-ranking officials like Grand Moffs and Grand Admirals against one another in order to cause a power crisis should he ever be removed from it. He planned to live forever, and the Galactic Empire should've been his.
In the wake of the Battle of Endor, the power-struggles all came into stark light as various moffs, admirals, etc, suddenly started fighting each other to try and fill the power-vacuum. The Rebel Alliance capitalized on this, and managed to assert itself as the New Republic when Admiral Ackbar lead a successful campaign to retake Coruscant. From then on, the Empire only existed as the Remnant, with a few bids to return to its old power by individuals such as Thrawn and Dalaa until the Fel Empire reasserted itself.

Actually no. In the Clone Wars TV show (which is the only 100% canon source besides the trilogies faggot look it up) the clones aging process you see in episode 2 that takes them from fetus to adult in a matter of weeks doesnt magically stop.
At some point between the trilogies the emperor stops all cloning on kemino and an imperial conscript program and draft happens. Look it up.
