You can see this in SSE (where every Nintendo villain ends up going good) and even Kid Icarus, where the characters seem to have a fluid level of morality. Even Hades comes across as a "good guy" at times.

I like the games but I'm getting sick of them either being a retread of Kirby's Adventure, with practically no changes despite the game being over 20 years old, or just slapping the brand onto an IP idea that Nintendo didn't have confidence in like Epic Yarn or Mass Attack. It's been moving sideways or just not at all for the past 3 or 4 console generations instead of moving forward.
I know the series really doesn't have a bad game, but that's not hard to accomplish when it's as unambitious as it is right now.
