I don't know if I would go as far as God Tier, but Binding of Isaac is pretty fun. Good replay value, keeps me playing it. Too bad it fucking crashes all the time. Flash probably wasn't the best choice.

VS:AC pisses me off. I hate the platforming and stunlocking bullshit. I gave up at the engineer's palace or whatever. The game is no longer fun at that point.

Spacechem makes me feel stupid.
honest question here, but why do people like faster than light? the combat is boring and you spend so much time just looking at bar fillings ups, grinding is rewarded rather than punished, a lot of event are heavily stacked against the player (small chance of success for a small reward vs high chance of losing an important member) and unlike a proper roguelike there is a very small pool of items and random stuff
is it because it let you roleplay your star trek fantasies?

not out yet, but they're working on them and it'll be free dlc
also it has over 300 cheat codes, some are pretty ridiculous like making shovel knight (and his hitbox) 8x normal size
>>266371176
Except the ending comes out of fucking no where. It looked like the game was going to open up and you'd have more choice with your party. Nope.
For an indie title, Age of Wonders III is meaty and pretty to look at. The early game in Civ where you explore and battle barbarians is one of my favourite parts of that kind of game: it's bigger in AoW3 and persists for longer as you conquer things due to all the independent forces populating the map.
Michiel van den Bos does the soundtrack for it too.

>>266371743
Isn't it a Rehash of a flash game?
Just asking, i'm actually curious.
>>266371819
Triumph developed the game and published it themselves. That's what an indie game is.
Agreed OP. Its actually my most played Steam game.I don't use Steam too terribly much for gamingI hate multiplayer games
>>266370578
Its not a Sonic clone. It has too much focus on combat to be one.I also think its better than Sonic

I got the itch to play it again but then remembered all the frustration too.
It's so good yet so infuriating.
>>266370481
It feels really satisfying after going through so much bullshit, and seeing the boss finally blow up using what you had. Although I only won once, barely destroying it with my last missile, and don't feel like replaying it for the other ships (especially Crystal).
Anyway, Astrebreed is pretty amazing for its price, a shmup, but even then, hacking through enemies and bullets with a sword-wielding mech felt satisfying. From the same group, Fairy Bloom Fresia is all about being a cute fairy going Fist of the North Star on stuff.
One Way Heroics is a good roguelike. Has some "casual" mechanics (item vault for one), although you can just ignore that and beat it with what you start with.
Dungeons of dredmor
Risk of Rain
Both The adventure of van helsing games
Torchlight II
One way heroics
FTL
Betrayer
Tiny and Big
Grimm
Binding of isaac
i can continue forever, even though, for every good indie game, there are 5 shitty ones
>>266371668
godly soundtrack, though many wouldn't count AoW3 as indie because it is an old title.

AoW3 was released in March of this year. That doesn't make it old by a stretch, not unless you want to discard nearly every other example in this thread (for no good reason because age has nothing to do with 'indie' status either). The expansion pack is even more recent.
>>266372978
I felt I got my money's worth with Strike Suit Zero, even with the non-Strike-Suit missions, and more-so with Infinity, the arcade-game-format spinoff which was nothing but Strike Suit fighting.

>I liked it before X
No, that's retarded
The problem with minecraft isn't that they introduced shit that ruined the game, the problem is that Notch failed to deliver on most of his promises and the potential of the game was squandered
>>266372978
OP's game is a Kickstarter game
Iji
An Untitled Story
>>266374498
Have you ever thought the potential was also wasted by shitty updates?
>>266374498
I only ever played it twice, once before hunger was around (made a tunnel and got bored) and once more after hunger was implemented (made a wooden hut and got bored). Never heard of Notch or any such promises until long after both turns either.
>>266374498
such as?
I never played minecraft but I just always heard the people who spend hours on it everyday do nothing but complain about it.
>>266374719
But again, my point is that no feature really "ruined" the game
>>266374876

>>266372629
The main character is David Mitchell?
>>266374498
Minecraft has two problems, both lack of content and updates that ruin the game.
Minecraft is a bad game for its genre, but it's the best game of its genre. It's really easy to make a game that makes Minecraft look like a 5/10 game. It's easy to think it deserves an 8/10, but that's just because all other games suck not because it's good.
>>266374989
Didn't Notch also say if Minecraft were to be ported to other systems that it would be free if you had the PC version already?
>>266374994
you gonna dig up treasure piles with a sword?
seems pretty practical to me
>>266373151

>terraria-1-3-mobs-weapons(...).pngterraria-1-3-mobs-weapons-and-armor
What the fuck, did they have a leak?
>>266375130
He didn't say that. He promised ALL future versions of the game to be free for alpha buyers, which basically includes what you said. At least from what I know about. But I'd asume I'd hear it elsewhere if it were true and not from you for the first time.
>>266365512
Oneshot
>>266375369
Pretty sure that's all fan stuff. But well, 1.3 does have a shit load of fan contribution, so I wouldn't be surprised of at least something of that came to terraria
>>266375130
Yes, and in theory we can sue him for that.
Nobody really bothers, though. He pulled that promise very early (when he had less than 15,000 customers).
>>266375564
1 million people bought Minecraft in Alpha, all those people were promised Minecraft for free. So although that specific promise may only include 15000 people, he also made an extended promise that includes 1 million people. I and many others bought Minecraft under promise of getting every future version for free which he has not delivered on.
>>266376225
But do you really care about the Xbox version? All the best mod that make the game tolerable are on PC
Iji is fucking amazing. I loved every second of it.
>>266365180
>>266365363
Aquaria and la-mulana are both great metroidvanias.
>>266371053
Lots of fun. Makes me wish Megaman wasn't dead.
>>266365027
Freedom planet is pretty great; it's a shame almost all of the people who played it are incredibly autistic furfags/sonicfags.
>>266376642
Motherfucking IJI yo. Loved it.
>FTL
You know it, become the captain of a pixelated ship and explore systems while upgrading, fighting baddies and escaping the enemy fleet
>Binfing of Isaac
Dungeons and monsters. Never know what the next playing attempt will bring.
>Strike Suit Zero/Infinity
Spaceships, spaceships that turn into overpowered mechs. Comfy soundtrack, nice visuals with lost of flare. Refined controls, even with kb/m
>Bastion
Isometric action. Kickass narrating voice. Nice implementation of choices. Challenges and unlocks keep you playing.
>Which
Very short adventure horror by Mike Inel. Nice for a lonely night when you got 30 mins to spare.
>Hotline Miami
Fun, blood, guts, gore, retro. Did I mention it's fucking fun?
>To the Moon
Not a game, but the music is great and the story/characters actually quite interesting.
Even while still being unfinished, Distance is fantastic
>>266372725
Holy shit, nobody understands my love for One War Heroics.
>>266365027
FP was good, but not god-tier.
>>266380248

>>266380927
They started working on concepts for another Mighty off-shoot after SF2, but nothing has been said about it since. SatPC's endless delays might have had a part in it.

>>266371176
Is the multiplayer banner saga still good?
It was pretty fun last time i played, but unlocking/upgrading characters took ages.
>>266382009
Double dragon neon was really awesome. Skullmageddon was pretty much Betty from kung pow but more menacing.
The only part i didn't like was that boss that was a plataforming secton on a huge tank.
>>266373027
You're underselling it. I can't get into Gradius at all but I fucking loved Hydorah.
>>266365027
I want to fuck gashi-gashi
>>266382887
never really got into the multiplayer so I can't say, but I liked the single player so much that I played through it a bunch of times to get all the achievements
winning on hard without ever losing a battle was pretty intense, this is what the first fucking battle looks like
