But is being able to escape fights a bad thing? You could never really get away from a close quarters battle in previous Halos. And its not as if everyone playing the game can just sanic out the door when their shields drop - by the time they try to run, its usually to late.
And can you explain why having larger maps is bad? I understand that bigger =/= better, but if they're designed with sprinting in mind, is there really a problem

I dug the armor abilities in Reach, I wouldn't mind keeping sprint as one of them. It was pretty cool and added a lot of depth to the gameplay. In terms of multiplayer, Reach was by far the best.
Sprint should not be anything more though

If you died in Halo, it was most likely your own fault. By having sprint, you can now avoid death by running away, thus causing a better player than you to lose a deserved kill.
As for bigger maps? Well, Halo hasn't really been a game filled with large maps, since 4v4 has been the most popular gametype in all Halo games, and vehicles are pretty much forgotten in BTB because of sprint.
