The Wii U doesn't have a good enough library to justify purchasing at its price point unless you're a hardcore Nintendo or Platinum fan that doesn't like any other games, especially if you already have a 3DS.
It has 4 decent games you can clear in sub-10 hours and then you're done with the entire system (you can play Monster Hunter on the 3DS). Not worth a console purchase, and it's not getting a lot of great titles soon either.
Bayonetta is another good-but-not-great game that you'll clear in sub-10 hours, SSB is coming to 3DS, and there's little known about any of the other games.

Not allowing yourself to play games on certain platforms is stupid. Games are meant to be played, no matter on what platform. Multiplats should always be played on PC, that obvious. But games that are tied to a specific console shouldn't be ignore because you're an elitist that won't play anything under 1080p/60fp. Emulators for current gen are far from being made, even the PS3 is far from being emulated.
