I gotta say, I kind of missed this Zoe Quinn thing but it seems to me like a lot of people are shit talking her when she's not really the one who did something we should care about. Like, yea she's a ho or whatever don't date her and yea she lacks integrity but the thing is we don't need the people who work on games to have much integrity. A lot of artists, authors, etc are/were pretty terrible people. So her being slutty doesn't necessarily reflect on her work.
However, we DO need integrity in our journalists, and in judges. The journalists and that indie game judge that fucked her and didn't disclose it while reviewing her work are the ones who are the real bad guys here, but so many people seem focused on her crimes that it's becoming this big sexism thing when it shouldn't have anything to do with that.
If people really cared about the games journalism aspect I think we'd be hearing more about how awful those guys are, but instead all I've seen are gamers complaining about Zoe Quinn and calling her a slut and a bunch of other shit that just makes them sound sexist and biased.
And then gamers immediately turn around and act like idiots about the Anita Sarkeesian video, acting like she's the worst person in the world and sending her death threats and shit. It's embarrassing, and completely deflates the totally legitimate complaints we had about the games journalists getting paid in pussy to write good reviews. i just played the beta of The Crew and everything about that game annoys the shit out of me.
every car handles like shit and behaves like it's on ice whenever you need to make a turn at high speed, every mission is one of 4 different types: race guys, deliver something on time, knock a guy out, or escape from whoever. that is the entire game. it has that famous Ubisoft writing where they take a subject and try way too fucking hard to emulate your typical guy in that situation to the point where it's embarrassing to listen to. i had to fucking mute it because i got tired of some nigger telling me all about how sick his whip is and some fbi cunt yammering about how i gotta get my crew together so i can get that ink to join the street racers, dog.
the geography is all sorts of fucked too. it took 15 minutes to drive from Detroit to New York. it took me 40 minutes to drive from New York to LA, half of which was on dirt roads, since no interstate seems to exist. Las Vegas looks like it's in central Utah. it's fucking pathetic
