I see some games are going to be removed from their catalogue, but I don't think it is because of their fair price policy. Publishers/devs are paid the price, it's gog who gives out the difference. If something it helps them since people are getting more from their purchase, virtually buying the game at a lower price while the publisher gets the whole price.

Fuck regional prices. Anybody who doesn't think GOG is based is a valvedrone or just a full on retard.

Guild 2: Renaissance with mods is pretty solid. I like the Sims shit, and it still feels like there is plenty to do and manage. I think as it is right now after two expansions and plenty of modding to fix the broken shit, it's a good buy.

Heads up for people planning on getting Gothic 2: It's a direct continuation of the first game. I'd recommend playing Gothic first. It's not 100% necessary but I think it's still important. It's not as good as 2 but it's still absolutely amazing.

Marketing stunt

During a period of days from September 19 to 22, 2010, the GOG website was disabled leaving behind messages on the web site and their Twitter accounts that the site had been closed.[15] A spokesperson for Good Old Games reiterated that the site is not being shut down, and confirmed news would be forthcoming about changes to the service.[16] A clarification posted on the site on September 20, 2010, said they had to shut down the site temporarily "due to business and technical reasons", with industry journalists believing the shutdown may be related to the nature of DRM-free strategy, based on Twitter messages from the company.[17]

On September 22, 2010, GOG revealed that this shutdown was a marketing hoax as part of the site coming out of beta.[18][19]

Why doesn't Steam get the same shit as /v/ is giving GOG?
>>
>>260197954
Publisher goes bankrupt. Creditors seize all assets and auction off the rights. A bank gets them for $800 or something. Then they change hands a dozen times. The rights somehow ended up with an insurance company. No one at the company even new they had them till GOG tracked them down and sent them an offer.

Now it's up to you if you want to pay in US Dollars, or in the currency primarily used in your country, whether it's the Euro, Pounds Sterling, Australian Dollars, or Russian Roubles. That's four new currencies supported by GOG.com for your convenience. If you end up paying more for a game than its standard US Dollar price, we'll refund you the difference out of our own pocket. The refunded value will be added to your account in Store Credit in the currency of your purchase. It's a marketing maneuver. Nordic bought the THQ trademark (and some THQ published games) and will renegotiate all licenses under the assumed THQ name.
http://www.gamespot.com/articles/thq-s-name-being-revived-by-darksiders-owner-nordic-games/1100-6420477/

Do you mean the games or the service itself? Steam has caused me more problems than GOG and there was a long period of time where any old game I bought from Steam had zero attempt at making it work on modern systems. Thief for example, according to people I know who tried to buy it there.

People have differing opinions in this thread so mileage may vary. I personally liked it.

If you grab it, only grab Guild 2: Renaissance. It's a stand alone expansion that has all the stuff from the base game + Pirates and new features as well, as well as being the version mods and fixes are made for.
>>
>>260202530
You could check out Full Spectrum Warrior: Ten Hammers and Freedom Force vs. the Third Reich.

The first Black Mirror is pretty good and the GOG version works better than the Steam version. GOG fixed some sound errors that plague the Steam version.
