But yeah, CoH was legendary. It was a legitimately free. It wasn't pay to "pwn" and everything you bought was either cosmetic or DLC.

No MMO will EVER be close to touching CoH for the sheer action, exploration, and enjoyment involved. It wasn't an MMO for the hardcore nit-picking PvPer, which is why it didn't get the numbers NCSoft wanted. Why they didn't just sell it to someone who did, is still beyond me.

Every couple of days thoughts of this game flood back into me and all i can think about is how much i want to enjoy Champions or DCUO the same way. I've forced myself to put so many pointlessly boring hours into both of them, but they're simply not good. DCUO kind of ticked me off with the lack of non-combat content. Additionally, the RP community is nearly nonexistent, which is a huge deal to me.
CoX was perfect on pretty much every front, really. Its own unique setting was a blast to explore, unlike DCUO's extremely boring renditions of Gotham and Metropolis. The soundtrack was great, missions were fun, and, perhaps the biggest draw, I absolutely never got tired of making new characters. I made a new one probably at least once every week or so.

It was largely terrible, but it was present and dedicated. I made some great friends in the RP community, but I also remembered getting blacklisted by this dude's guild for talking shit to him in the Pocket D. I still miss it, faults and all.
