The Jeff & Vinny combo works really well. Jeff is the sad lump and Vinny is the happy go lucky guy. It's a classic archetype combo.
In some ways Dan has replaced Vinny's role in that combo, except he seems to have a bit less wit than Vinny. He makes up for that though in his wildly differing opinions than Jeff. And it's great that he isn't afraid to passionately defend them because that brings out the best in both of them. I love those arguments.
