You only have 3 foghorns, lure generally has a low accuracy. The raids are mostly randomized post SBHQ. Endgame is difficult if you're going to actually play the game how it was meant to be played - helping everyone and I mean everyone, not just playing with all people above laff 110 for example.

Drop is objectively better than Trap for a few reasons. For one, the accuracy of Drop isn't that bad if someone uses a different gag on the Cogs to damage them in the same turn. If you plant a Drop tree at your house, then it gets a massive accuracy bonus as well. Second, you get three grand pianos as opposed to two TNT, which obviously makes a big difference for total potential damage. Third, nobody has to waste a turn using Lure, and can instead use more damaging gags. With a TNT, at least three toons are required to destroy a level 12 Cog. With a grand piano, only two are. And lastly (and most importantly), Drop SOS cards will NEVER MISS as long as you have at least level 2 Drop (thus meaning you need the gag track itself). Without it, they will always miss against high level Cogs. Because Barnacle Bessie is by far the most damaging SOS card, making it have 100% accuracy is a huge advantage.

You can't even do any of the bosses except for the VP unless you have over 100 laff points and all 6 of your gag tracks. By this point, you are overpowered, and as long as you are playing relatively optimally (not hard at all in this game), it's pretty much impossible to die unless you somehow miss a bunch of gags in a row and nobody has Toon-Up unites.

Club Penguin has the most expensive membership, a successful merchandise division (toys and stuff), and I think it has microtransactions now. This is a lot of half-truths. There were only 4 'raids' (unless you counted the shit with a limit of 4 toons as such). The weapons were pretty horridly imbalanced (most people go either trapless or dropless for good reason). Endgame was only hard when you were grouped with several complete idiots. With proper coordination, endgame was, and still is, easy as piss.

Given that the Rewritten team seems to be dedicated to replicating the original game (with new content, of course), odds are this won't happen (TTI, however...)
If you really wanted to make the game harder, though, you'd probably have to nerf certain gags (e.g. reduce the damage of the level 6 and 7 gags, reduce the carry capacity of sound). There's also the possibility of introducing higher-level cogs and 'hard-modes' for the bosses (e.g. a CFO where the crane phase pans out like it does near the end through the entire fight).
