This game gets more flak than it deserves.
It's actually a good game with some flaws with pacing.

Maybe if you're trying to collect them all, but the requirements for progression are fairly reasonable.
I really wish we'd see the 64 Kongs in more games. I think the last time we saw any of them was in Barrel Blast and that does not expand dong.

I liked it for what it was, especially the final boss.
A sequel can easily address the problems the first game had. It had a lot of charm and character and damn if I didn't love the individual traits each Kong showed.
It was a classic Rare title, albeit a slightly lower one.

The problem isn't there's too many collectables
the problem is there is nothing to the game other than collectables and boss fights.
There's not really any platforming to do, you just wander around, use the powers to wander around even more, and then find enough shit to fight the boss.
