WoW is literally just using skills in rotation to maximize damage and maybe interrupting a scripted enemy cast. Xenoblade has combo'd status effects, chain attack system, actual customization, enemy visions, etc, the list goes on.

Xenoblade would have benefited immensely from a bombers notebook to keep track of npcs or a quest tracking systems like the one found in borderlands. Also the sidequests were not tedious because you got rewards instantly. Exactly this. The issues weren't the quests themselves, as you tend to complete a lot of them just exploring and going from location to location.
The big issue was trying to find every quest available, which required you to run through entire towns thoroughly multiple times for day and night. Sometimes, you had to do this all over again when you raise the town's affinity level.

The difficulty is fucking orgasmic because you can unlock chaos on your first playthrough and it nets you huge rewards Even trash mobs can three shot you if you're not careful but if you're a master at dodging then you can be rolling around at 1 third health with your eleth mixer, accel arte, or elethburst as backup. Graces has the most depth and polish out of all the Tales games. You can't cheese like in Xillia or Vesperia.

Yeah it's one of the greatest games I ever played. 100% completed it, got me into the western film genre, watched about 40 western movies, then replayed RDR and enjoyed it even more than I did before since I could truly appreciate the subtle references and atmosphere.
