I have a PAL Wii, but, I can use Gecko to run a NTSC Brawl file off of USB, but, it plays extremely poorly for some reason. The framerate is choppy and it really messes with the inputs.

Galacta Knight is a different character. Though their quality is starting to slip, originally they said no alts would change who the character is.

Except lucario plays nothing like a street fighter character. He's most similar to a darkstalkers character if anything and still none of the darkstalkers characters remotely fit his playstyle. It just makes it so that percentage is de-emphasized, you hurt me and now I can attack like you're hurt more than you are. It didn't have a significant effect on the way people played and it wasn't an element that people could strategize around, a lucario player wouldn't play any differently with the aura system to a player without it, both of them are going to try to avoid getting hit at high percentages in the same ways. Desperation supers or ultras in KoF or SF4 have more of a tactical impact than the aura system did, by actually giving the players different options to utilize rather than being a dumb automatic comeback mechanic.
Please don't refer to this mod's creators as "devs", they are modders, it's rude towards Sajurai and all the other real developers that work on the real Smash games.

It's honestly pretty fucking easy. There's a bunch of guides on it and there's only a few steps and downloads needed.
I have no experience playing with the 360 controller, but I've played people online who used it and did decently well. I mean you're not going to put up much of a fight against someone decent with a gamecube controller, but you can still learn things about the game.
If you really wanna get into it and get gid, the netplay community for both PM and melee are fantastic, and at that point it's totally worth investing in a gc adapter.

First off let me say I LOVE project M, 3.2 is my preferred smash game and without it I wouldn't be as good I would be today.
That said the P:M team is a highly political dev team that is notorious for kicking dev's and testers out if they don't agree with certain members.
I am not going to drop names here but one member in particular will nerf and buff characters solely on the fact on whether or not he "likes" them or not and the other dev's can't say shit or they get the boot.
If you want further proof wait til 3.5 comes out and see how extreme the buffs and nerfs are.

Sakurai gets no slack from me because he's doing literally the same thing as Project M (modifying existing code to a point that it's a new game), but he has even more people and time and money to work on it, and somehow he acts like alt costumes and shit are the hardest most time consuming things to add ever. His wording makes it sound like the only alt costumes in the game are Little Mac and all the Male/Female swaps. Don't expect N64 models or shit like that because it apparently needs weeks of testing to swap a model but leave all the existing hitboxes in place.

I'm gonna repeat my points to you in simpler words.
Project M compared to a game from scratch is
1. Easier to make because it's not from scratch, and because many others already have tampered with Brawl, and much easier to assemble a team for, and a TENTH of the logistical nightmare
2. This team gathered in the first place because their unifying cause was to make Brawl a better game, so they would have little reason to move on to something else collectively, AT LEAST before they're done with this
3. This mod is so famous not just because it's good (which is subjective), but also because it's a Brawl mod. They would need huge marketing to get nearly as much renown without standing on the shoulders of giants as they are doing. Goind indie means they would have not only to make their own game, but also to make their own hype. And that ain't easy, nor cheap.

But who would the characters be? You can't just reskin Smash, there'd have to be original characters with original moves. All animations would be made from scratch, you'd have to hire VAs, have to somehow bring it to tournaments on a PC, and program absolutely everything.

I understood you points before, and they are pretty weak.
1. Just because its harder doesn't mean its not worth it. Also they already have some e-fame, if they put an ad out people would flock to them.
2. The fact they already worked together and know each other is already a unifying force, also at what point are they going if they are just going to add characters brand new characters I'd say they are finished.
3.They already have plenty of hype, word of mouth is effective.

Simple start with ripoffs of the nintendo characters. Like how most games have a Ryu type character. Just put in new characters that fit the other character archtypes. Start with a few original characters and just keep adding more and more as the game gets bigger.

What i meant by archtype is for them to basically have their version of characters in PM.
Like a small plasma demon/spirit that uses electricity to attack for pikachu.
Have a guy who has a bunch of future tech and his 2 brothers to be Fox/wolf/falco.
Do that to please the PM players, and to help ease them into the game, then sprinkle in original characters over time.
Also if they keep it relatively cartoony to make it so the characters dont clash too much.

It just seems off. We all know that it's supposed to be someone else, why not throw in some new stuff? Also, there's not many games out there that are like Melee, so the characters may as well be reskins of the originals.
Where's the fun in making it exactly like the base game? Skullgirls and Shovel Knight aren't like that. You can see the influence of the games they're based off of, but it's not like they ported everything over.
