When I went in the elevator in Celadon I didn't know how to get out, so I reset the game. I don't know why either because the carpet marking the exit was just like all the others.

I would fight young link with ganon and have a team with me and peach and make sure gannon kills her (gannon was lvl 9 and peach was 1) so then I would pretend time had passed and I would play with Link and fight gannon but gannon posses Link (I choose his black color) so then I had to use Marth and Roy to defeat him and Bowser since they were the "heroes of light" (Marth had a white costume and Roy had a gold.)

When I first played Pokémon I was afraid the run option in battle would make me lose my Pokémon or something so I never used it. This meant I fought every single wild Pokémon I found.

when playing any jump'n'run I always did a little jump myself, sometimes accompanied by noises meant to somehow keep the characters longer in the air.
It was especially bad in DKC. The game had some jumps with a long ass airtime and my retarded little ass would stand up and jump and I'd do this loud "HNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGG" sound only to gulp in air again when I landed.

I was afraid of the Sandopolis mid-boss in Sonic & Knuckles so when I thought I was getting close to him I'd reset the game and use level select to go straight to the next level.
I was also afraid of the ghosts in Sandopolis Act 2, the longer you go without hitting a light switch the bigger and more aggressive they get. However I somehow thought that if you waited long enough they'd never stop growing and eventually become something so horrible it would give you nightmares to look at.

Probably the stupidest thing I thought on a regular basis was that the developers for some reason designed a huge world ten times larger than the main game that you could access by using some obscure method to get out of the game's boundaries.
I spent so many hours trying to find secrets like that.
as a chillun that played ssbm, I only had game and watch left to unlock. I played through adventure mode hundreds of times, and when I fought Luigi instead of Mario on stage 2, I though that GaW was "messing" with my game. I had no idea who he was and he looked weird so I basically saw him as the herobrine of melee (didnt know of herobrine at the time, obviously)
I had a crippling fear of LikeLikes that prevented me from beating both OoT and Majora's Mask. I remember reading that they would eat your shield, which sounded horrible enough, but then I actually encountered one. The way they gyrated and the fact that they were vomit-colored and were apparently trying to eat me whole was too much.
That fear never truly left.

My younger brother was like that.
