When you are first in the cave there is fucking jump scares with men grabbing you, I was nearly in tears due to not expecting it at all in that game, I was in my comfort zone.
As much as I hate to say it, Daylight.
Normally I don't get scared during horror games since it's all jumps and hiding in the dark but Daylight just keeps you on edge the whole time and that's what kills me. That and the indie one Paranormal.
Used to get scared real easy as a kid, but I've gotten over that now. Only real thing I can think of is in Condemned 2 when the rabies bear chased you. I got so scared every time I faced a dead end I just reloaded the checkpoint, no way was I letting that thing catch me.

What's the scariest game with no jump scares?
Metro 2033 has a pretty scary atmosphere and relies more on foreboding and tension than cheap jump scares. There were moments where I was pretty cautious to move forward because I was scared, mainly because I played the game at night most of the time.

When I was really young I was easily scared, even by certain parts of non-horror games. But once something in life comes along that really puts the fear of god into you, you find it hard to be frightened by them anymore.

I can never bring myself to play SCP: Containment Breach without pussying out at some point. Sure, the jump scares might feel cheap to some but I'll always panic when having to actively concentrate on losing the enemies unlike Penumbra or Amnesia where running hysterically or crying in a dark corner are usually enough for survival.

It was definitely the atmosphere, music and monster design.
There wasn't exactly the same fear as a jump scare or you see a scary face and you want to get away from it.
It was some claustrophobic, oppressive feeling that stuck under my skin even after I stopped playing it.
I can't explain it too well, since it's just a general feeling of anguish. It's probably because that's what I believe hell is like, if there is one.

For the longest time as a kid I could never play Resident Evil 2 since the start and early portions of the police station scared the living fuck out of me. Now I have the infinite submachine gun, gatling gun and rocket launcher unlocked as well as both Hunk & Tofu scenarios unlocked. And I can now get to the police station without picking up items easily and get the secret costumes. Really the early RE games as well as Dino Crisis scared the hell out of me.

Silent hill is the only game that has made me stop playing due to fear. I don't usually play horror games since they use a lot of jump scares which I hate, but I usually finish the ones without, like the Zero series and SS2. SH made me surrender without jump scaring me at all. The atmosphere is just that good. I think it's mostly due to mindfucks and the excellent sound design.

Playing RE3 on the PS1 as a kid. That game is only one I remember being so scared while playing that I had to turn off the game. I've freaked the fuck out in other games, but I dealt with it then. Fatal Frame on the PS2 got me good a few times.

Never. I don't think it was courage as much as it was fear that turning it off would be worse somehow. I am pretty sure I played scary video games after having seen films where the main character unplugs technology but it continues working. Then I just grew desensitised over the years, I guess.
I also never shouted in fright, not to a screamer or a video game. There have been times when a video game made me twitch, though. Resident Evil 3 did that plenty. Fuck you, Nemesis.
