MGS5 isn't even a MGS game anymore. Kojima is so sick of working on it, that it barely resembles MGS in terms of both story, mood, and gameplay. Think Star Wars vs. the prequels. MGS 1 - 4 were the original series, then Kojima goes back to try to retell this "epic tragedy and downfal" of Big Boss, like Lucas wanted to do with Anakin. Plus the idea that the patriots are all your buddies from MGS3 is as ridiculously close-knit as Anakin ending up building C3PO.
