DaS's plot was a bit too convoluted and DaS2 barely had a plot that could be followed. DaS2 required too much guesswork. With DeS you just had to look in the right places and the plot became very clear. Also, better atmosphere and bosses than DaS and DaS2. Everything felt more inspired and original. Not to mention how the NPCs were more memorable.

I appreciate what the B team was trying to do with trying to force some kind of cohesiveness throughout the lore of all the Souls games, but it fell flat. I just want to see more of Boletaria, ideally seamlessly like the Dark Souls games. Lordran is more "fantastical", whereas Boletaria is more spartan, oppressive, and horrific.

I'd disagree; Dark Souls had a much more fleshed out world. It benefits quite a bit from having the game take place in a more tightly packed area rather than warping you across some map. I think DaS2 is the worst of the 3, but I'd be disappointed if the series returned to a bunch of disjointed areas rather than having all the key characters/lore-relevant locations be in a more cohesive area.

Playing Demon's Souls the first few times, it felt like the world really did want to be connected, they just had limitations. And Dark Souls before ringing the bells literally was interconnected Demon's Souls - Undead Burg and Parish were world 1, Catacombs were world 4, Blighttown world 5, Lava area after Queelag's domain was world 2.
