So what's the rationale behind sticking sticking a tentacle in a dude's face after it rots off due to corprus?

I never understood to point. Is it just dagoth ur being batshit crazy?

No, they literally get a tentacle installed after their face falls off. Give me a minute to dig through imperial-library, there's a book on the process.

Sorry, I misremembered.

>The next step in the evolutionary process of one of Ur's servants is the "Ash Zombie". During this faze the Ash Slaves face becomes brittle and falls off leaving a gaping hole. During this time the servant loses its magical ability but gains considerable strength.

>Next comes the "Ash Ghoul". After a certain amount of time the corprus inside the Ash Zombie starts to grow a strange tentacle like appendage out of the hole in the zombies face. In this form they gain a consideral amount of magical ability and are also very strong fighters. Some of Dagoth Ur's closest compainions are Ash Ghouls.

>The final step would seem to be the "Ascended Sleeper". The tentacle growths inside the ghouls head eventualy completely emerge and a new head is grown where the old one was. These beings are incredibly strong and are the pinicle of what a servant of Dagoth Ur can achieve.

http://www.imperial-library.info/content/corprus

It grows, not gets installed.

The most boring answer is that they all died, and yet it's also the most plausible.

The Dwemer ruin in Mournhold has ash piles for every Dwemer that was there. That's what happened to them. They fucking disintegrated into ash instantly.

The reason you only see them in Mournhold is because it's been perfectly sealed since it happened, unlike all the ruins on Vvardenfel that have long since been looted and cleaned out by everything.

I will agree that it was the most satisfying but the lack of scaling and customization was a huge turn off to me. Especially when my first character was a mage and I struggled the whole game but when I made my first non-mage character the game got a lot more manageable.

What do you guys think of dialogue systems (sorry I know that's vague and unhelpful, but you know what I mean) between the three games? I don't just mean persuasion, but just dialogue as well.
I honestly think full voice acting ruined the dialogue in TES. If nothing else it makes modding harder, which is pretty stupid. I didn't enjoy talking to anyone in Oblivion or what little I played of Skyrim. It's just tedious waiting for the dialogue to play out, and completely insubstantial if you skip through it at reading pace.

>>
There was a huge discussion before about Sixth House transformations. It's believed that corpus has nothing to do with it, as >>256715146 mentions, especially since that was written by a fan. Notice how most of Ur's worshipers don't actually have corpus. Corpus is the divine disease. Dagoth Ur spreads it so that you seek his aid. He can remove the negative symptoms of corpus and let you rejoice in the rest of the symptoms. At that point, the mutations begin and you begin to see like he sees, live as he lives. People who are part of his cult are often called Dreamers, because he believes he is the dream and all are a part of him. When people are infected, he sends them dreams to join his cult for proper treatment and initiation. Vivec himself states that corpus is controlled by the cult in order to achieve new magical powers and a new form of life.

I don't know the specific reason why it's tentacles but the fact they can play music with the tentacles might relate to the tonal structure of the universe. Not only that but there's likely a symbolic reason why the face falls off, specifically the eyes.

At some point the dwemer did have an advantage but go into a dungeon and fight a dwemer machine. They're not as strong as people may think. With the magical prowess of the chimer - remember, these are the same people who establish House Telvanni - and likely having better combat skills due to traveling across Tamriel and being taught how to kill and slaughter by Daedra, the Chimer quickly became a huge problem.

It has a few more aspects of western style. The moving title screen is from Flash Gordon serials and the titles of the movies themselves are reminiscent of classic horror movies. Revenge of the X, Return of the X, The Phantom X, or the X Menace. But there is a lot of Kurosawa influences from the east as well.

I just played though the Skyrim mod Undeath and there were a lot of references to the King of Worms. I haven't played Morrowind or beaten Oblivion entirely. However, this seems like a good place to ask this:

I only really know of him from a few books in Skyrim, and that the Necromancer's Amulet was something he used or created.

Manimarco, the King of Worms, was supposedly an extremely powerful necromancer

In the multiple endings of Daggerfall, he can become either a god, a lich, or just stay a necromancer, depending on which ending you go with

And because all the endings are canon, he can be referred to as any of the three, deepening on which dragonbreak timeline you're in

This is kind of a shitty explanation, so sorry

hi trainman how is your game coming along?
>>
>>256731529
It all starts with the Psijic Order, one of the earliest influential groups of mages in history, located on the island of Artaeum(probably misspelled it) in Summerset. Mannimarco was basically a big supporter of necromancy that went way overboard and eventually had an army of necromancers, a cult, and a gajillion undead ready to take over Tamriel. It was Galerion and the Mage's Guild - which Galerion founded - that stepped up and killed Mannimarco. Unfortunately, Mannimarco became the world's first lich - first recorded or what, no one knows- by that time and eventually comes back in Oblivion to be a massive asshole. During the Warp in the West, when time went out of control, one timeline involved him becoming a god. His influence over necromancy is seen in Oblivion, where he grants powers to create black soul gems through the necromancer's moonlight.

>Relief efforts began almost a month after the mountain erupted. It was actually a directive that came from the House Redoran councilor that was living in Mournhold at the time. I can't remember his name, but he took charge of the situation and sent soldiers, supplies and able-bodied Dunmer to the outlying settlements that had been hit the hardest. I was sent to Balmora. The place was a mess; hardly anything left in town was still standing. I spent maybe two months there, helping to rebuild the town and getting my fellow Dunmer back on their feet.

if it wasn't for Redoran there literally wouldn't be shit left for the other houses

To be fair, the state of Telvanni is still unknown. We have little information on how much of the mainland was destroyed and despite the Telvanni family - which all of a sudden exists thanks to Skyrim - being wiped out by Argonians, the Argonians attacked from the south while most Telvanni territory is in the upper east. With people like Neloth just popping up and growing new houses, it's likely Telvanni is doing fine. They just don't care about what's going on in the world, especially since many can take care of themselves.
