Have to agree with this. Started playing wow before tauren had mounts (forget patch number) and there was much, much, less emphasis on being max level. Dungeons were more difficult and as such needed more teamwork. World pvp was way more alive and was more natural feeling than forced, stv was a crucible. The worst part is even if they were to release vanilla servers it wouldn't be the same, people are too accustomed to expecting only max level content

I always was annoyed with old Wintermaul design. Getting stuck at the back means you get no money, and it's all about snowballing. Gold should probably have been spread equal, awarded the same at the end of every wave vs per kill.
The least they could've done would've been to add a sliding scale for rewards. Give the guys in back more gold than the front, because I was absolutely tired of having the front kill everything for 20 waves then complain at me when I leak because I never got any money to build anything.
