Played it for 600 hours. Had fun for a while, but after that it was just being stuck in the loop of having fun for 10% of the time I was grinding over and over to satisfy my dopamine needs within the shitty pay2play grind2win system DE had developed.
Too much incompetence and lack of focus drove me away, plus the fact that Warbros was dead, I was getting bored, and the only updates in sight were cosmetics and more weapons to grind, as if there weren't enough already.

Honestly getting materials for weapons really doesn't take that long if you know where to farm for them, I don't know why anyone would actually buy that overpriced stuff in the market.
As for the game itself I put a lot of time into ut but it could definately have some end game direction.
Only problem is with the mod system how it is and un-balanced weapons any kind of endgame wouldn't be that great until they fixed those issues.

Weapons, Frames and other stuff are unlocked by collecting the parts and building them in your ship. You can buy the suits, weapons etc for platinum but it defeats the purpose of the game.
Platinum can also be gotten if you trade with someone who wants rare modules or specific blueprints. The grind is pretty huge if you don't.

Oberon isn't a paladin so much as a strange mashup of mage and druid and healer.
Because of that, he doesn't have much specific utility, aside from farming XP on mobile defense.
Certain frames like Oberon are only good for a certain time. Others, like Rhino, can survive with much more endgame utility. Rhino has a degree of invulnerability, a charge that can be made into a long-distance dash, % damage buff, and crowd-control immobilization for his skills. Buffs and utility skills survive much longer into endgame than damage skills.
The new ship is way too cramped, it's seriously shitty to control yourself in there and have all the UI elements as well.

He starts out shit, but when you get the right mods, you can run around being invisible for 30 seconds at a time, or you can disarm everything five rooms over, or just troll pubs and teleport them behind grates and shit.
