These guys are right. I run a kitchen and everyone has to hear what you're saying. And if you work around people like the people on Hell's Kitchen who fuck up over and over again with the same things, like I have, you have to yell at them and tell them to focus. And help them out when they need it but it's hard when everyone has a hundred different tasks and you have to stop yours to fix Private Fuck-ups mistakes. Especially when they've been working in food service long enough to know that you preheat an oven before you put the bread in.
That doesn't necessarily mean that chefs are assholes, I tell them good job at the end of the day, compliment them on the things they do well, and if it's a particularly good day buy them meals or drinks on me. Food service is rough work, man.
