Honestly I believe that Sakurai just makes clones and puts them in one game and then if they make the cut for the next game he gives them more differences. If Roy made the cut for Brawl he probably would have been changed a little and I wouldn't be surprised that if Lucina makes it in to the next game there are more things he does to make her different. Like he did with Falco and Luigi in previous games.

What's even more bizarre is the fact that Chrom ALSO voices Joseph in the anime, both young and old. So you have Old Joseph narrating Old Joseph.
