I'd move the lower right-hand corner art up just a tad, so it doesn't get covered by the screw. Aside from that, I think it looks fine as it is. Best not to make it too busy.

If you have to, I guess you could throw something up around the upper right-hand corner, again making sure that it isn't partially covered by the plexi's screw.

>>253645060
If you plan on going full hog, I'd suggest getting some mix-and-match buttons. Like, pink / red rims with your choice of plunger or so.

You might want to look into a PS360+ or a MC Cthulhu board. The Zero Delay Arcade Encoder also works, if you just want PS3 / PC functionality.

If you're good with soldering, you can always go with padhacking.

>>253646478
If you aren't going to insert artwork into your buttons, I'd look into solids. Sanwa dark hai plungers should generally work.

>>253646861
Look for a Qanba Q4RAF template. There should be one at Art's Hobbies.

Artwork's usually applied by printing it on cardstock or whatnot, then sandwiching it between the stick and a clear plexi. The aforementioned Art's Hobbies sells the plexies and offers printing services.
>>
>>253646861
download a template like this

http://www.tek-innovations.com/arthobbies/downloads/Art%20Hobbies%20Qanba%20Template.psd

then make some sort of fancy looking artwork

and then when you have that all done you can buy plexi and have them print and cut your artwork

http://www.tek-innovations.com/arthobbies/index.cfm?loc=products
>>
>>253646861

Plexi is more expensive but easier.

With plexi you can just lay it over the printed artwork, so it's super easy to change if you ever want to. the plexi also protects the artwork.

Without plexi, you need to use some kind of adhesive or print on adhesive paper. Naturally the application can be easy to fuck up, and if you ever want to change it you'll need to do a lot of work to take it all off.

The Hayabusa and Kuro parts are kinda shit, but everything other than that it's perfect. perfect weight, great size, huge plate for artwork, feels great in the lap and the touch screen is actually really convenient.
definitely worth the $250+ with parts if you can afford it.

For the bezel? Primer + your color of choice + topcoat to protect the paint

Be aware that the color of the primer will affect the shade of the final color.

Or you could just buy a new bezel.

I've been wanting to build my own for a while, but I don't want to "build" my own case.

That was only in Marvel because Capcom was retarded and never expected anyone to be able to input both directions at the same time. And I think they ended up fixing it.

In SF4 you can abuse being able to hold up and down at the same time with charge characters. You can charge down and then press up (without depressing down) and it will register. You would be able to do the same for left and right charge if it were not for the "fix" they employed on the Hitbox because of Marvel.

Worth mentioning that dye is much easier than traditional paint- just wipe the plastic clean with a wet cloth and spray. Depending on the color, you may need to do 2-3 coats. 30 minutes later, you're good to go.

No worries about wearing through the coats either as it is not simply a layer of paint on top of the plastic- it literally dyes the plastic.

Not that I'm aware of. PS4 games have the potential to support PS3 sticks but it's on the developer to do that. We'll see if Arksys does it with Xrd, but I doubt it...

Which is kinda malarkey given that the PS3 already had generic USB support. Why not on the PS4 as well?
>>
>>253669056
PS3 in general was surprisingly open for a Sony product. I was blown away when I plugged in my Thrustmaster gamepad from 2002 to find that it functioned perfectly.

Must have removed it from PS4 because they need dat licensing monies. At least they don't completely lock you out like XBox. Although if it's at all complicated to enable support, they might as well.
>>
>>253669056
Because jews
>>
>>253669056

The PS4 send an "authentication signal" every 8 minutes, and the PS3 sticks don't know how to verify it.

the PS360+ PCB can work on the PS4 now (Beta firmware) but has to be reconnected every 8 minutes.
>>
>>253669687
>the PS360+ PCB can work on the PS4 now (Beta firmware) but has to be reconnected every 8 minutes.

wait holy shit

You could just write a routine to disconnect/reconnect at the pcb level.
>>
>>253668276
That's just a rebranded Qanba. Just get two Hori HRAP3 of you really need to play on both systems.
>>
How can I get custom images on fight sticks, and do I need a specific stick for that?
>>
>>253670904
Depends on the stick, but you can generally get a clear plexi panel and just put your art under it.

>>
>>253674618
It's not important. You might find those inputs you're having trouble with to be easier but others might give you problems instead. dashes, in particular are more challenging for me on stick than pad for example.

If you're comfortable with pad, try to fix the problems you have with that before opting to switch to stick.

>>253674853
easy. back panel pops right off and everything accessible.
I'm not a fan of the size, because i spread my legs when sitting. And with the low weight they tend to slip, I found this was easy to counter with getting some stick on felt
>>
>>253674853
They're a fantastic shell but early Madcatz sticks had some notorious pcbs. Put a PS360 in that thing though and it'll treat you as good as any TE though.
>>
>>253675363
>Madcatz sticks had some notorious pcbs

i see people say this here in there. what exactly is bad with it?
i bought one of those sticks since day one and never had any problems with it.
mind you i do play casually so i might be missing something here.
>>
>>253675713
I don't know of any scientific studies on the number of failures but I had a TE Round 2 for 6 months before the PCB failed. I personally know of at least one other person that has had a failure as well.

It's the only stick manufacturer I've ever personally known to have had failures. But as with any electronic device, plenty of people have had MCZ sticks for years without problems.
>>
>>253675713
Mostly unsubstantiated claims that it drops inputs even though most top level players still use Madcatz sticks. Just another way for people to blame something besides themselves when they lose.
>>
>>253676672
You will likely find similar numbers from all the companies, simply because it is electronic equipment. It happens, as long as madcatz support is good

Thanks,
>>
>>253679456
Constructive criticism.
Don't use paint.
Also, move the logo to the bottom right corner.
And use a template so you know where the screws are.
As far as the background goes try something simple and not too noisy.

You know the scrolling film they use in the intro sequence, i feel like you can add a few in the background and maybe some faded story art/in-game screens it could look very sick.

Maybe something minimalistic like this hdwallpaperpc.com/download/Valentine_Skullgirls_51255/resolution_1920x1080
but with the valentine film going on that bottom right space.
I would mock something shitty in photoshop but i dont have time/installed on this pc yet.

You're going to want to put new buttons and stick in it. Hori's old proprietary parts are some of the worst parts ever. Also keep in mind how small this thing is and how much it's going to move because of weight. I'd just spend the extra money and get a used/ on sale TE.
