The most likely character from that leak list was not only NOT included, it completely neglected to mention Robin and Lucina. This only multiplies the error from before of omitting Rosalina and Charizard, both of whom are considered newcomers.

That's what I was saying. Something like Mario having 5-6 reps isn't out of the question. It's possible that they could have a hidden newcomer. Maybe Zelda won't get one but I'd not be surprised if they happened to. Sales figures don't matter too much in the long run. Star Fox got 3 in Brawl for example. Metroid getting Ridley and DK getting K. Rool would add two heavily requested characters onto the roster without them being over represented. In fact they'd more or less have their most important characters represented right there.

I'm not sure how the hell he didn't but he most certainly does now seeing as he's not brought up Ridley by name or fully shown him doing anything. I can tell Smash 4 has upset you in some way. I may not like every single character on the roster but I don't hate any of them either. There's obviously characters there to promote a game or series, but there's also ones there that are just there. Either it be due to fan demand (Megaman) or veterans (Game n Watch) or just cause Sakurai wants to add them (WFT).
Maybe it's unfounded but people are going to hope that Sakurai is playing this long con to reveal characters that people have wanted for a long time. It's not set in stone, it may not happen, maybe nobody will get anything they want. I personally have more faith in the guy that we're going to be pleasantly surprised.

From looking over various forums and such the names I see come up time and again are Ridley, K. Rool, Isaac, and Mewtwo. I dunno how valid this is or how much it relates to what Japan wants though. All four of those getting in would make a shit ton of people happy, which is all I want in Smash. That's what it's suppose to be. Playing with Nintendo characters that you're happy with.
Hell another fun thing with it is you get to play with characters you don't normally get to. Villains, forgotten characters, the damsel, etc. It'd be nice to play as K. Rool or Ridley after so long. Or to slap people around with Isaac, again after so long.
