I don't think there is one. Only Half of Adventure is great. And by half, I mean Sonic, Tails, and Knux. Personally, I like Amy and Gamma.
There are mixed opinions on the mechs in Adventure 2. I like them.
Heroes has mixed opinions. Personally I think it's fine, minus those enemy rooms.
06 is buggy and nearly unplayable, but at least for Sonic's story I can say I had some amount of fun. Plus, for a sonic game all I want is run and jump to the end. 06 lets me do that for Sonic's story, while Shadow the Hedgehog forces me to stop and look for my objectives to collect or kill.
Colors was great, but It's mostly 2D.
Generations is great for the first two eras, but the last one is mediocre. Also Classic Sonic had some weak ass physics.
And Lost World has mixed opinions too. Personally I think it's the best because it feels like Sonic 2 in 3D. It's platform heavy, but if you know what you're doing it's a fast and fun game.

First Sonic game was Sanic 2 at my babysitter's. I was terrible at it and couldn't really practice much because my family didn't get any consoles until the n64 era because we're working class scum.
I know deep in my heart that Sonic Adventure 2 sucks, but I'll always love it. The PC port that's on Steam is immaculate.
Now and when I was a kid, I've always thought knuckles was the bossest motherfucker in the cast.
