Would anyone be up for a Kingdom Hearts thread? Just started replaying KH1 in the HD collection. I'm on the hardest difficulty and in the beginning I picked up the scepter and dropped the sword. I've had a bit of a hard time in parts but the nostalgia is so intense.

I think the only difference between Proud and normal is the amount of damage enemies do.

OP here. Currently in Atlantica. I'm a level 30 I think and have cure,stop,and aero on my shortcuts. Something that's really fucking annoying is how fucking fast Donald and Goofy will die. Even if I give them high potions in each of their item slots and have them set to only use them in emergencies they use them up so fucking fast and just die. They're just so fucking useless.
I miss the magic of the first game. I don't know how to describe it really.
I'm still a fan of the others I've played, but it feels like the Disney stuff is just a sideshow now, a formality. And I think the series lost some of its appeal because of that.

From atlantica forward I usually sub out goofy for the in-world partner. Ariel has good magic adjustment, Peter Pan can deal decisive damage, and beast can tank and pull decent aggro as long as you need him.
I'll admit, the in-world party characters don't have as much synergy with your group (and can't perform trinities) but they really do help for their world if you're in Proud mode.
Cut off Donald's offensive magic or else he'll waste it all.

That's more or less true but I've found ways to make them work better for you. You can control your allies (somewhat) with the triangle button, so you can call them back to you to avoid getting hit or tell them to attack another opponent so you can solo one. 1.5 fucks this up because your powerful attacks now use the triangle button too.
You pretty much need Tarzan in his world the first time around because he gets Cure before you do. So you unequip his offensive abilities and make him use defensive ones more frequently. Repeat this logic for everyone who has defensive/healing moves.
Donald gets hit a lot but that restores his MP quickly so he can pretty much always heal, especially when he gets Second Chance.
Goofy should never use special attacks (MP gift and Evolution only) and you should equip him with large shields so that he can run around and deflect attacks for you. This helped me a few times because I picked the staff and didn't learn guard until halfway through the game.

In all seriousness, they were probably turned into heartless in the first game. We never saw them in Traverse Town, so they most likely got swallowed up. Best case scenario is they got resurrected like the others if Sora killed their heartless and nobody, but even if they never died or were simply resurrected, they probably forgot about Sora like everyone else in that world did. And it's not like they were close or anything. We do have a slight timeframe.
We know a year took place between 1 and 2.
We also know that The time between Roxas being born and Sora fighting the bonus battle (and therefore before he killed A:SoD) was 6 days. So we might be able to assume that they spent roughly that long just preparing for the final battle.
And because in game it doesn't feel any longer maybe each world took a week.

Start Tutorial as Kairi, with Axel being your companion at some parts.
Then after that you get to play as either Sora or Riku with a switching system somewhere between DDD and BBS, so that you can't finish the game on one character alone but it also doesn't force you to randomly switch.
Then just give Sora and Riku some random good commands, 5 extra levels and a few items then boom.

Xemnas lied to the Organization by stating that they don't have hearts, since he knew that Organization members could develop hearts of their own over time (like Roxas). The organization's true purpose was to have 13 vessels for Master Xehanort, collected all throughout time.
Of the 13, Xemnas and Ansem are memebrs because they came from Terra-Xehanort. Young Xehanort and Master Xehanort are also members. Saix and Xigbar are also members (though Xigbar is half Xehanort for some fucking reason).
There are a total of 6 confirmed members, with 6 unconfirmed members. Sora was supposed to be #13 but he was saved by Axel (now Lea). Riku was rejected because of his journey and triumph through the darkness.
Now Yen Sid and friends have to gather 7 Heroes of Light to battle the reformed Organization 13. They're probably Sora, Riku, Kairi, Mickey, Lea, Aqua, and who knows the last one.
KH3 is the battle between the new Organization, and the heroes of light.

Meh, Naruto is 100% unlikable as a series. KH has good concepts but honestly Nomura and the writing staff are irredeemably pieces of shit who should be beaten with a crowbar everytime something seems stupidly executed (so that's a lot of beatings). I frankly turn my brain off when it comes to KH, I fully expect it to be a poorly done pretentious pile of garbage writing. About the only thing I can say the writing has done consistently well is Riku's entire character arc.
