When do YOU think its coming out?

My best guess is Spring-Summer 2015 since we've only seen about 6mins of "gameplay" total
>>
>>249101813
Why would you care ?
>>
It's just..

What am I supposed to be looking forward to?

Is there something you do in this game that I can't do in another game?

Not understanding the hype.

If it's coming out that early it'll be a pallette swap extravaganza with maybe a half dozen sets of stuff to choose from.
If they're really good they'll be able to implement a Spore creature creator Lite to mix and match animals for you.

who knows, never maybe? they havent shown any actual in-game footage yet

Then, why everybody discovered this "game" (it's a tech demo, that's it) only after the Sony conference ?
>>
>>249102237
It's Minecraft with substantially better graphics in a science fiction setting, and you can take off in a spaceship and seamlessly fly into space and then on to other worlds without loading screens.
>>
>>249102789
not like theres anything to load in space other than the skybox

eve has done this for years now
>>

I guess people like minecraft. That makes slightly more sense.

They have not confirmed any building mechanics. Comparing it to Minecraft wouldn't make it look good anyways

>>
>>249102282
Sure seems that way, everything released plus the hype points toward a HUUUGE disappointment.

Especially with the guy who made it, he said the gameplay videos were "accidental" or "entirely random" yet the game happened to do everything it had within 3mins per trailer

the idea that theres no hands-on gameplay yet is a big sign of trouble or CG "visual representational" modeling ala Killzone 2 or
Motorstorm.

I'd love to call their bluff on all these claims, especially the trade/economy/random/stores/ship upgrade/mining/dino/dogfighting/clan features

seems like too many claims and zero evidence so far.

its like posting gameplay of minesweeper and then making up some shit about "customizable mines" or "special upgrades", lots of consumers dont get that just because A claim=True, doesnt mean B claim=True.
>>
>>249103056
You, but not 99% of the people who are hyped for it. Just look at the forums.
>>
>>249102789

Is it really possible for someone to be so ignorant that they would post this?
No, must be a joke of some sort.
>>

There is a spot in the opening trailer (e3, not the debut in 2013)where you can see individual cubes available for mining, however Im not sure if this is throughout or only in particular parts of the randomly built worlds/locations

Space Engine is very impressive indeed, but it has no game to it.
NMS appears to improve on that aspect, though it's arguable that it will have a universe generator of comparable quality.

The last good game that had this feature was in the Elite series waaaaay back when. Which is why I'm also hyped for the new game, even though its planet engine isn't coming until some kind of xpac.

The only thing it has in common with Minecraft is the procedurally generated world and yet, in No Man's Sky everyone share one unique seed.

>better combat
The only combat we've seen so far is flying and shooting lasers. At least in minecraft you have the option between long range and melee attacks or building traps or complex mechanisms with red stone.

>better player mobility
Okay for that one

>more mobs
We've seen like 6 kinds of mobs and among those, there were identical mobs found on different planets. The logical thing would be that each planet has unique mobs but let's get real, we know they can't code that shit.

>(potentially) no terraforming or construction
Let's not start speculating that every possible gameplay element not talked about could be in the game. If they said nothing about it, we have to assume it's not going to be there for now

Just gimme a link or video source that proves this. Because your claim is in direct conflict with the Dev's earlier claims and general statements/faq. In fact, here's a link to the game's official FAQ or disclosure page.

Shame there probably isn't completely dynamic terrain similar to what Landmark is using. Being able to construct and shape worlds like that in this game would be amazing.

this is another one of those in-conflict claims

"infinite"

vs

"outside ring"
maybe the "outside ring" isnt the same as the "edge of the universe" and instead is a median diameter.

Picture a donut, starting at the outside ring could just mean the part with the sprinkles, there's more to both ends of the ring but still with a middle and a ring

that's the logical compromise for an argument in which neither of us know which statement is correct

but in my opinion it'd be weird to spawn as default at the border of an invisible wall when you're advertising "infinite worlds"

Does nobody read the links I post?

http://www.joystiq.com/2014/06/18/no-mans-sky-name-your-own-dinosaur-get-eaten-by-it/

>Even though there will be other human players exploring the same universe, you won't bump into them very often. "You can meet and get an idea of other players, but the universe is very vast, basically, so the chances of you actually coming across someone are pretty slim," says Murray. "We're not trying to make an MMO, or if we are, we're making a really terrible MMO, because everyone is spread so far apart." It's not a game that you pick up to play with your friends, he says. The closest approximation he can come up with is Journey, where players could cross paths with other players, but don't deliberately play "with" them.

yeah, I knew it was you, I could tell from the language when you were going back and forth with the other anon about how "x" feature didnt exist, then he posted the video and you went from sarcastic "OMG THEY PROMISED" to the fall-back "ok its real, b-b-but the ship got blown up with one hit so its still shit and im still right somehow"
>>
He said there'd be no multiplayer back in the day, and now the guy's saying there will be.

What gives.

You are aware I'm not the same guy on every post you cited, right ?
>>
>>249117980
no-one can be this summer......

I know, every other guy was the anon you were arguing with, thanks to your own screenshot, you proved that you were the guy that bitched out after you were proven wrong

maybe you can post your IP too so we can laugh at you forever?~

There isn't much to say about this game to begin with. The devs are being vague on purpose and still no live gameplay on the horizon
