All the Pokemon in the first two games had actual relevance and were still relevant by the time they were added to the game though. Snake is fine too since they focused on the classic parts of the franchise instead of the new stuff.

Roy is obviously cut. Marth has been in since Melee. Lucina is extremely popular. Ike plays differently enough to warrant a spot. Corren could be very popular in the future plus looks the most fun to play out of all the FE reps. Robin is the only FE non-sword fighter and a unique moveset.

Melee was enough to get the FE series started here, but even Marth's return to Brawl and Ike's inclusion didn't do much to help the series's sales. Why would this be any different?
