Anon do you like the game with aliums in it?
>>320106492
Alright how about this, we all (assuming anyone gets is this thread besides me myself and i) all reflect on our favorite ever squad members we made from EW. My two favorite were both chicks, i had not created equally on so i got an assault on a classic iron man run that had fucking ridiculous aim, called her my shotgun sniper, she was a one woman killing machine all the way through the end of the game. Then there was bumblebee, i named her that after giving her a yellow paint job and the insect looking helmet that's kind of tall, sadly she died on the exalt base raid after just getting her wings (arcangel armor) but i did fight my way through to the end of the campaign to avenge her which led to my ironman impossible runs finally ending in success
>>320107692
was doing a classic ironman playthrough
had an asaault who was tough a nails. was playing with training roulette so they had like low profile, immunity to crits, had lead every mission until a massive calculation fuck up left them hovering in the air trying to capture a base commander alive.
so if you make a colonel sniper a mec they thave beast accuracy, any base commander mind control particle cannon rip
The aliens are our friends.

The misery of mankind.
That image triggers me. Reminds me of pic related
Why are the XCOM games so expensive? They're too costly.

Captain Alexander 'Papa Bear' Golubev, from Russia, heavy. Got gravely wounded in a terror mission trying to get the last few civilians, ended up needing him for another terror mission too soon after and I had no decent alternative to fielding him. Made the ultimate sacrifice to put him in a MEC, dreadnought style.
>>320109642
That image made me think of a game based on Muv Luv Alternative with XCOM gameplay.

HUMANITY IS THE RACE OF PEACE!
XCOM AKBAR!

Fund it familia.
>>320107692
My party in EW is basically made of those soldiers given as prize in some missions
Advent is our friend. We fight against terrorists.
>>320107692
I don't have many interesting stories, but MEC trooper Lionel Messi and gene modded psychic sniper Sergio Aguero were invincible beasts.
Yeah, I name all my soldiers after footballers from that country.
>>320110519
At least you have imagination, I never changed a thing to my party and I can't remember a thing about my dead units until I don't check them
Niggers of the universe.
>RNG shit
Is this the best thing PC has to offer? LMAO
>switch to Classic mode ready to get rekt
>save before the mission knowing I am going to lose too many units
>actually manage to destroy 2 Sectopodes at once and a few Mutons with ease
And I thought Classic was going to be hell

I got enemy unknown and the DLC for sixteen Australian dollarydoos on G2A. Not sure about the older ones though.
>>320107692
Barrett was one of my memorable characters. He was Assault and took ZERO prisoners. Any xeno within four tiles (Close Quarters Specialist and Sentinel abilities) would end up being wrecked by him. He also single-handedly held back the Chrysalids in that Newfoundland mission. Sadly, he died during the base defence .
The other was Dio Brando, another assault. He had the three Medkit upgrade + revive ability in addition to wrecking the fuck out of everything with the alloy cannon.
>>320107692
My most memorable soldier was a Japanese sniper whose nickname was Comet.
I was at a bad point in the game where all of my A team died on Ironman Impossible and I was relying on SHIVs to do the work. Every rookie I put into the grinder regardless of class to rank them up died except for Comet. He survived so many "you're dead" moments by the skin of his teeth and hit so many low chance shots that he made the final stretch a cakewalk. I showered this guy in medals to boost his stats and he ended up being the one to kill the Ethereal boss.
>>320107692
>Markus "Loco" Kohler
An expertly skilled Assault who murdered dozens of EXALT members. A bad move on my part during Base Defense left him exposed to a Heavy Floater that critted him.
>Klara "Longbow" McKay
Postergirl for cheesy snipers, she dropped a whole bunch of aliens in Base Defense and Temple Ship Assault, including killing the Uber Ethereal in one turn. Received a blue armor paintjob after the Base Defense.
>Maria "All in" Peters
Although she never achieved a killcount on par with Kohler, Peters was just as effective when shit hit the fan. She was my go-to covert operative and scored some good kills with nothing but a laser pistol. After the Base Defense, she chose not to alter her armor as a sign of grief over the loss of Kohler. She was the only high-skilled soldier on my team to unlock psionic potential and she became the volunteer.
>Goliath-2
My oldest SHIV in service, Goliath-2 racked an impressive killcount. He was always on a squad if he was operative.

GROUND CONTROL TO MAJOR TOM
I need x-com 2 in my mouth
Post best alien designs
What works well against Chrysallids? I'm thinking laser weaponry but I always pick that up really late.

Overwatch, explosives, SHIVs with Sentinel Drones, and Assaults with Combat Reflexes.

No. Purge the breasts.
>XCOM2 aliens are apparently melting people down into goo
>Not just harvesting samples of genetic material and replicating it
>They have to be artificially made evil through comic book level incompetence
If XCOM2 was a post-war noir detective game with a MiB sort of feel, I'd have more interest in it.
>>320116712
Why is that "artificial evil"? Why would they give a fuck about humans?
>>320117205
Well it comes down to administration. Even if you don't care about the population, rigid Lawful Evil works better than what they're doing. You can do what you want and get away with damn near anything so long as you do it competently. Going full Unit 731 on people when you're entrenched just puts you in the position where you end up fighting against an intifada you can't win against. Yes, you'll snuff out most of them, but they'll keep cropping up.
>>320116712
>XCOM2 aliens are apparently melting people down into goo
XCOM aliens were doing that too. And even discounting the Alien Food, what the Ethreals did to Floaters was pretty horrific. Even the Uber Ethereal acknowledges that it's a fate worse than death.

Where in the hell are you people getting this from. I've heard Day one DLC and Denuvo when there are no implications of either.
