I've been considering the Playstation 4 for a long while now, and I think I've drawn a conclusion.

As much as people like to shit on it, Wii U is the only system that's an upgrade from its predecessor. The OP also basically describes the Xbox One.
Basically, you buy a PS4 if you really like Bloodborne or Disgaea 5. You buy an Xbone if you really like Halo and old Rare games. Jap devs are starting to seriously test the waters with PC and finding success so third party jap shit is probably going to be coming to steam more and more. Most of the shit sony had to show at PSX was also on PC. On top of that people are starting to say this console gen has like 2 more years left in it before new machines get shown off. It's a game-by-game case. Some you can (Warframe, FF14, etc), some you can't (CoD, Battlefield), some you can use some MP feattures but not others (MGS5, Bloodborne).

It's the cheapest console in the market when it comes to cost-to-performance ratio. The WiiU is the most expensive by far, the upmarket on that one must be 200$ now. Xbox is on a close seconds, much better than it was at launch.

In what way? It's never upfront on the PS4's UI unless you actually use it regularly, just like any other app/game. The Share button is used for screenshots and video recording, it's your option to upload it to a service or just copy it to an HDD. I'm really confused by this point

Look anon, this coming from a guy who primarily had sony consoles his entire life. I loved not paying for online during the ps3 lifetime. When i made the switch to ps4 and had to start paying for it, it really pissed me off. Until I realized "oh shit, i can actually PLAY the fucking games" without the connection just shitting itself whenever the fuck it wanted. Ive had more stable connections in the past year, than I had with the entire ps3 life cycle. And this on a 200mb down, 50 up Internet service. And the fact i can have discounts at the store on top of other discounts, this is a fucking quality of life improvement for me. If you don't want to pay for the service, thats fine. Dont do it. Find a different console (I think the Wii U has free online) or get a decent computer. Steam shits out sales and the service is free (more or less). Theres always other options. The newer releases of PS3 lost the backwards compatibility, as the original PS3 basically had an internal PS2 hardware to play PS2 and PS1 games on. It was fuly backwards compatible as far as I'm aware, played every game I wanted to play with it at least.
