Also, the melee finisher quickly becomes obsolete and not a valid option for anything else than toying with the last surviving enemies in the waves.

All in all, SS3's melee finishers > D44M's GKs.

I dunno, D44M's GKs are actually seamless and well-integrated and balanced as to be necessary (but not every time), whereas these instakill teleports are garbage and ought to just be cut from the game.

And the standard colors are appropriate for the setting, which isn't great but oh well.

pfft, yeah right!
That shit does nothing but stop the gameplay, last way longer than SS3's kills, make you invincible while at it, AND give you HP.

Also, that "teleportation" only applies to handful of small fodder enemies, and allows you to avoid their (usually very nasty) melee attacks. But like said, I have no idea why you'd use it after the first couple maps, other than to toy with those grunts.
And Vivid makes EVERYTHING in Sam and Talos better. Period.

SS3's instakills are a literal teleport from ten yards away and it's jarring as fuck.

If it's completely superfluous and you should never use it, it shouldn't be in the game. Whereas DOOM's glory kills are a meaningful decision and they do leave you vulnerable so you don't want to do them often on Nightmare, but they can save your life in a pinch.

That screenshot is grossly oversaturated.

dear lord, a video game looks and acts like a GAME! How can this be in 2010s, the era of our Cinematic Experience lords??

DOOM if anything is the game where you should NOT have to watch a single motherfucking cinematic, yet that shit is FILLED with nothing BUT those. Either you're listening to some UAC moron provide you some lore exposition and watching nu-Duumguy smash something, or you're halted on your tracks to witness yet another slooow, canned finisher move.

And you can't handle a literal 0.25 second animations that you can trigger a bit further away.
Also GJ ignoring the fact that there's a hefty amount of "teleporting" towards your enemies in Duum as well. And no Duum's animation lasts less than a second, and the amount of continuous GKs you perform quickly crank up the time spent watching those to minutes.

The Kleers ruin the game for me. They are annoying as fuck and aren't remotely satisfying to kill. Honestly, they are probably the single biggest reason Serious Sam isn't as popular as it should be.

Videogames don't need to look retarded and antiquated, and that is in fact what all of them have been trending against (apart from indie retro shit) over time, including SS3 which takes pains to make the invisible tripwire enemy spawns less glaringly obvious than they were in previous games.

You are invincible during the glory kill animation. The monsters outright stop attacking during the glory kill animation.

This is evidenced in every video of the game where a glory kill is performed.

You are vulnerable immediately before and immediately after, but not during the animation.

they are bullet sponges. they would be more fun enemies if they just threw out more but gave them as much health as the pistol grunts. combat with kleers is like combot with the suicide drones in duke nukem 3d. too fast for how much health they have while not having any suspension of disbeliefe regarding their health(fucking bones take more damage than fleshy creatures of any sort?) making every encounter with them fucking shit. no it isnt a problem with difficulty i would even prefer fighting 50 fiends in quake 1 at once over even one kleer and yet they are alwaya in packs of 20
