That's not to defend Nintendo though, just to show the poor quality these Genesis clones all are. The funny thing is that they're all made by fucking Atgames, the same company that fucked up the PS3 and PC versions of Deadly Premonition and gave it bad framerate issues. When the NES one comes out and suffers from same/similar problems then we can shit all over it just like when WWHD came out. I am skeptical of it sucking as hard though because unlike all these other NOAC systems this one's made in-house rather than outsourced.

The reason people want the nes classic is because it's a cute mini replica of the nes. That's the actual reason. Never underestimate how good a tiny miniature version of something people liked will sell even if it guts many important features.

To my knowledge the games included are actually the Virtual Console versions which is why it uses the Wiimote ports and can be played with Wiimotes. Expect the games to be darker than they actually are with bright flashing effects toned down.

I have no idea. I bought Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection for my PS3. I got it 5 years ago for $8. It had 50 sega games on it. I don't really understand the appeal of these except for using those shitty old controllers, but that's one of the only things I don't miss about classic games. Those controllers hurt your hands if you use them all day.
What I want to know is why the fuck they'd relaunch the NES and not the SNES.

Famiclones/NOACs are a dime a dozen and have existed for decades, but unlike these recent offerings they weren't always garbage in comparison. Russia had the Dendy since the 90's and despite being chinkshit it was practically on par with the Famicom in terms of video and audio quality, although the actual games varied because the Chinese always shoved bootlegs onto the market and the Russians couldn't tell the difference.
