I swear sonyponies are still salty and assblasted about losing E3 and only having TLoU clones or generic open worlds while Nintendo brings a breath of fresh air no pun intended to a stale genre that DESPERATELY needs innovation. Lately, I've been seeing sonyroaches try comparing the game to Horizon and getting salty that Zelda, a beloved classic IP that is one of the most popular of all time, is getting more attention and love and polish than Horizon, a game made to cater to SJW by the makers of generic shooters Killzone and never have made a non-Killzone IP game before. The real problem I have with Zelda bosses is that they're almost always too easy, are dead before you know it, and are almost never fully explored as boss fights.

Like WW's final boss. It was great, except for it being easy as fuck. If the difficulty were increased and you actually had to exploit the game's mechanics, including side stepping and backflipping, it would be fantastic.

That said, I don't have too much of an issue with OoT or WW's bosses otherwise. I always felt like they were fine aside from the easy difficulty.

Which is why I'm not sure why everyone hated SS for its boss fights when I personally felt like they were a major step forward. They were fun, definitely a step up in challenge, and the game let you replay boss fights whenever you wanted to.

I felt like ALBW had better boss fights than most other Zelda games too.

I saw all the hype this got by game journalists, and that's why I instantly hate this game. If Polygon and Kotaku and IGN think your product is so amazing, then there's a problem and I don't want any part of it.

TP bosses were fucking shit. I KNEW TP was going to be a bad game when I fought the boss of the second dungeon, and despite how intimidating he looked, he didn't put up a fight in the least and was dead in like, half a minute. That shit was such a letdown.

Fuck you. No really, fuck you. I mean it. OoT was the first game in the series to translate the series' 2D gameplay to 3D, along with being one of the first real 3D action-adventure games ever. Its boss design should get credit for being as good as it is. And its bosses were also legitimately memorable.

Your reasoning seems to be about the difficulty, which I already admited to be bellow the average for an already low difficulty series.
Can't really argue with racing a giant floating dragon bone head while riding a giant beyblade though. Also those finishing moves, the dynamic music the battles were great to watch, just piss easy to play.

Well maybe, but as I also said, some were fucking amazing. I can also respect something like Gohma for not only being a cool staple of the series, but also having some relevance to the context of the game, being the representation of the Great Deku Tree's curse. Deflecting Twinrova's beams was super fun too, and those moans when you hit the final form... oh boy!

I love when they give you hints about the boss and build up tension before you actually face them. That's why I always remember the skelleton dude from LA, or Twinrova, or Yeta...

Bongo Bongo was the opposite. They made it look mysterious and threatening when that shadow came out of the well. If you still didn't find the lens it was even scarier because you know that shit came out from there and you have to explore that spooky place as a child only to be able to explore an even spookier place in shadow temple later. And the build up was intense. There are all sorts of messe up texture in those places: blood stains, chains hanging, walls made of bones and skulls just blurry enough that you feel unconfortable and don't really know why.
In the end, what was the threatening shadow that broke the seal and atacked you? A goofy pair of hands playing a drum by the name of bongo bongo. I mean, seriously?
I don't mean it's artistically unispired, but definitely underwhelming.

zelda has always been revered for how fun it is, the quality storytelling, and the unique mehanics

that's why people are so excited, not because "it's okay when nintendo does it"

I know most people don't care for it. But where do you think the game falls within the timelines?

For me, I could see it being one of these:

>4th timeline split - Alternate outcome of the ending of Wind Waker where Ganon didn't stand around like a retard and have his wish stolen from under his giant jew nose. Thus, Link is sealed away to become more hardened for the eventual rematch with Ganon.

Pretty stupid, but not entirely unlikely.

>Set after Spirit Tracks and the return of old Hyrule - Somewhat the same, but the Link is another descendent who had to be sealed like OoT Link (or, going really retarded: It IS OoT Link who has been revived and restored in the Adult timeline).

Biggest problem is that it makes ST essentially pointless because the new Hyrule gets left behind.

The small percentage that actually do care were disappointed that sony presented all those games and not a single one looked as good as BotW.

Nintendo was ballsy going with straight gameplay but they had GOOD GAMEPLAY. So they did it and they carried E3. Sony was safe and showed a bunch of trailers that didn't use in game footage for the most part, and the parts that did looked like scripted stuff for E3 that won't reflect the final product. Safe, but not amazing.

So deep down they know that BotW is undeniably cool looking and Sonys presentation was nice and had a lot of interesting games, but didn't compare.

I can tell why. A horse is very fast. Flying/leaf travel is very direct. Walking is slow but precise.

They needed something in the middle. Good speed but not super speed, requires little planning.

It'd be NICE if there was a friction coefficient that governed speed (sand/snow very fast speed, grass medium slow). But that's just me wishing, I doubt it'd be in the game.

It would be so powerful an ability that levitation-proofing every puzzle would presumably be more trouble than it's worth, and potentially limiting to the puzzles themselves. Not to mention it would be a bigger instance of troll-physics.

Personally I prefer having to make creative use of gliding, updrafts, cryonesis, climbing, lumberjacking, see saws, etc than having all those neat things trivialized by levitation.

As for making things foolproof, it doesn't seem too outlandish an idea since again, most areas seen do have obstacles that would make trying to float by like a fantasy Psi-Ops not easy.

Besides, from the look of things, you're only going to have so much control of objects when you levitate them that if it were under you, you'd be limited by the camera not being further out to see and guide yourself.

You actually can use magnesis indefinitely, so it's possible they didn't want to sacrifice that. Really, my guess would be that they tried it and found that it was just too comparatively useful. I don't know for sure.

Still, it's just a shame no games let you do levitation quite like Psi-Ops did. Infamous almost had it, but as said, it wasn't nearly as fun looking as what you see in Static Shock zipping about with magnetism.

Huh, would have figured they made things near-unlimited for the demo so people could go all out. Still, it could change if enough want was made apparent for it. With the cooldown, that would guarantee no serious game-breaking because you wouldn't be able to float forever and say get off the plateau before getting the glider.

Of course, there are some who still think maybe you will have a means to get down without trading with the old man.
