Metroid is my favorite Nintendo IP. But I agree that the Metroid 'fans' are some of the worst in gaming.
And it didn't just start with Other M. Before Other M came out, the majority of fans were bitching about how bad Fusion was and obsessing over Prime. Now that Other M has come out, suddenly these people are claiming Fusion was decent. And arguing over which Prime game was the least popular (and therefore the best).
Hell, I've even seen people claiming Super Metroid and Zero Mission suck. Just to get attention.
