darkest dungeon is pretty cool but its too repetitive

higher tier dungeons rarely have any new threats (at most there are 1 or 2 new monsters in the 2nd and 3rd tier) and all the bosses are just the same, but with higher numbers

once you beat all the apprentice dungeons, there's really no content to look forward to outside of the darkest dungeon

DMC4 was better than DMC3. The enemies and bosses were overall better. The only real knocks on 4 compared to 3 are the lack of weapon variety, having to kill the bosses 3 times per playthrough and the backtracking.

3 had some of the most unfun bullshit enemies I ever seen in a game. It had many enemies like this in fact.

It does matter. The gameplay's entire premise is brutal hand-to-hand combat. Enemies hit hard as hell and dodging correctly plays a massive role in how long you'll survive, but that's not easy when enemies usually attack all at once and in erratic patterns. DMC is about juggling enemies.

I think people blow how bad DS2 is out of proportion. I think it's the worst game in the series, but at the same time I think it's like a 7/10 at the least.

DMC2's combat is just laughably bad. It feels like Dante is constantly walking through wet concrete, the weapons consist of a sword, a light sword and a heavy sword and guns are ridiculously overpowered so you can just press Square to win

i liked the demon form customisation though, that was neat.

God Hand's scoring system is garbage though. If you want to optimize your score, the best choice is to just keep dying constantly and milking the same enemies. It doesn't matter how you do it as long as you do it, it doesn't even matter which enemies you kill since they all give the same bonuses at the end. Not that DMC's is much better though.

He feels a lot like the combat in DmC. He has crazy crowd control, can move around extremely easily and also stay in the air no problem.

If you compare him to Dante he feels EXTREMELY passive, you don't really feel like you're doing that much. With Dante you feel totally in control, Vergil is "Press a few buttons, cool shit happens, everything dies" like in DmC.

This isn't an issue at all. In fact, it's one of the things DMC3's combat feels like it lacks. Control over your character in the air generally feels a lot stiffer coming back from 4. You can pull off some really great setups using the inertia to your advantage.

The rng in DD is kind of the point. No matter how much you prepare in life the unexpected can always fuck you over. It's to emphasize the frailty of the characters.

Dante starts out with the traditional four Styles and he can pick up new ones later on. Once he unlocks a fifth Style, he can mix and match any four Styles as he pleases at the beginning of any mission. Let's be honest, having five Styles on four directional buttons was kinda cumbersome no matter how smoothly you can switch between them if you're good enough. Ideally, it should be one Style per button and that's it.

Why not have a style wheel like how there are weapon wheels? Press and hold one of the d-pad directions to bring it up, and use the right stick to select from it. The only thing they'd have to do is make sure that the wheel comes up instantaneously and closes instantaneously. Also, none of that stuff with the game slowing down like they do with Doom 4 or outright pausing like other games
