Even with that said, History is the WORST performing subject in America, the literal worst. American students perform better in math and science, than in history, with around a ~12-15% proficiency of the subject in graduating seniors.

The only soldiers from the African colonies to be sent to the Western Front, were white, from the South African Expeditionary Force. That force was not allowed to recruit native, non-white soldiers.
Britain ATTEMPTED to bring a million black African soldiers to the front, following France's example, but the idea was blocked, for racist and prejudiced reasons, both from officers in England, and officials in Africa.
The only black colonials to enter Europe for Britain the war, were for labour purposes, never seeing combat.
That said, black soldiers that were already living in England at the time, DID serve in the army, and a handful even became officers.
So if you were in the British trenches of WWI, you would see Brits, Aussies, Canadians, Indians, Gurkhas, and white South Africans, and the seldom black British national. This is fact.

The black soldier on the cover wears full British gear, like the ones shown in the video above. British gear, British uniform, and British insignia.
The Hellfighters DLC, is only weapon skins for multiplayer, it contains no characters, missions, or anything else.
Similarly, there is DLC for the Red Baron, and Lawrence of Arabia, both so far confirmed to NOT be in the game.
We as of yet don't know what capacity America will have in the campaign, but the Hellfighters are not confirmed.

Correction, I typed this hastily, several other Colonial holdings of the British Empire in Africa also sent troops to the European front, but again, strictly white soldiers. Southern Rhodesia, for example, sent large numbers of white soldiers to Europe, and large numbers of native black troops to fight in Africa.
Racial prejudice was well alive, even in Britain. Just because they sent Indian/Gurkha soldiers to the front in mass, did not mean they treated all races similarly.

Britain did NOT allow black soldiers to leave the Colonies to fight in Europe. The reasons were purely prejudiced and racist. Many British officers were fully supportive of the idea of using black soldiers, chiefly among them Winston Churchill, but it never came to be. White officials in the colonies did not want that to happen.
The South African and Southern Rhodesian Expeditionary Forces that fought in Europe were completely white, you can look this up for yourself.
Another fun fact? Concerning the Harlem Hellfighters, and how they were given to the French because white American troops refused to fight alongside them. Did you know the British ALSO refused to accept these troops? The French had been using black troops for years, but it was not as if the British weren't approached. They were, and they refused.
