Great combat, and the pawns can do solid work if you manage inclinations
If the game had had just a couple more cities, one either in the Northwest part of the map or in that huge dead forest, and maybe one in the upper central/north east part of the map with about as much quality as Cassardis, it would have made the game feel much more alive
That being said, despite the issues I have with the game, it's a blast. Every class is good in its own way, and has shit that makes them good. As far as fantasy RPGs/ARPGs go, it's definitely my favorite

It's alright. If you didn't believe all the hype it's actually a solid, if horribly repetitive, game. Combat was pretty nice and the pawn system is good.
If only Capcom would release an actual sequel and fix up the first one's flaws.

One of my all time favorites despite of all it's flaws, i simply love this game.
It's okay. The combat/classes and pawns are the two main things it has going for it but even those aren't great. Combat especially has a nice feel to it but is very poorly balanced, especially later in the game and BBI where it just becomes a shit-tier mashfest/grind. World's mediocre, quests are boring, story's awful until the very end, exploration could be good if they didn't do everything in their power to make it worse by blocking your progress until you trigger certain quests, enemy variety is way too low. I still had fun with it though. Early on especially.

It's sort of a weird marriage between Monster Hunter and Dark Souls, but without the depth of any of them.

It's the setting, the playstyle variety, levels and quests designed for that playstyle variety, the dialogue, memorable characters, etc. Combat and stealth are kinda shit when taken individually though.

one reason bitterblack was so great was just because there was (slight) elements of randomization w/ regards to what group of enemy spawns in an area, as well as the whole rotting meat/death mechanic, which could have been done a little better, but still did wonders for replayability.

Felt complete to me, with Bitterblack, anyway. I hit level 190 before killing Daimon's second form.
I honestly don't really understand why you can even get to 200. After 100 stat ups are so low it's not even worth it. Felt pretty arbitrary to not just cap it at 100.

Slow start, but I ended up spending 180 hours on it.
Struggled through BBI at level 50. Got destroyed by Elder Ogres a few times.
Eventually got my character to level 200 and obtained all the level 3 BBI weapons I needed. I'd like to try to get all the armor, but that would take a lot of grinding, and there's not really a point anyway.
The most disappointing part is the Everfall. So many dull and boring copy+pasted rooms. They should have just made it a boss rush with the same room or something, so at least I'm not wasting time killing trash mobs.
I loved the combat. Going back to Dark Souls after playing this was hard. DS controls feel slow and clumsy in comparison. Also, really made me wish DS had a ledge grab.

i dont really play platinum games but dragons dogmas combat while fun is mostly style over substance. The extent of actions youre really doing are hit your 3-6 abilities + block hit and climb. Theres not really much else to it and the pattern never really changes up (aside from like daimon 2.0 which is just a shit fight)
