When you push a button, the moves comes out 8 frames later.

On pc, disable vsync, you get only 4 frames. So yea if PC player vs PS4 player, PC player can have frame advantages and make ps4 player 'lags'

Capcom decided, for whatever reason, to give the game a universal 8 frame delay. You can disable vsync to remove it on PC, but that is not tournament legal and was not the intended way to play the game.

What this 8f delay does is tremendous though. It turns SF, which has always been about baiting and reacting, into far more of a predicting game. You have to anticipate and guess more than react because of the delay before your actions occur.

For example when Nash dashes and grabs you, chances are you inputted grab because it is really obvious when he is trying to do it. What happens? You get grabbed because you would have needed to input that grab tech very early for it to actually register by the time you are grabbed. This is also why Ken and Laura can ever get any mileage on their V-Skills.

It makes a slow and tedious game even more boring to play and it makes it really difficult to deal with rushdown, which is all the game currently is.

Game is still very much about reacting, albeit less so.
Teching a throw after Nash dashes in is no problem, the real issue is that you'll have to commit to the tech, making it basically a 50/50 if you get thrown/shimmied.

Ken and Laura STILL get too much mileage out of vskill in tournament play, even with the lag thrown into the equation - it'll be less viable in the future.

You're not wrong in saying that the neutral is more predictive but in the end, things like anti airing aren't as big of an issue as scrubs like to think.

You should be reacting to the dash, not the throw. If you can't tech that, it is because you are 20 or so frames slow, not because Nash has an advantage. Nash can be thrown out of everything so its not like you need to worry about a DP coming, there is no mixup. Just tech.

They said they are looking into it and made it seem unintentional. If this is the case, they are truly retarded. I am leaning on the fact that they knew it was in the game but didn't think it would be a big deal. Considering Skullgirls intentionally has very low lag, it is clear they thought it was a big enough issue. I can't for the life of me understand why Capcom thought it was acceptable for the biggest fighting game franchise of all time.

Im east coast searching 5 bar only and it takes me at least a few minutes to find a match game is pretty boring when i can only play 3-4 sets in an hour.
Trying to find a 5 bar connection in a battle lobby is almost impossible too either I end up kicking people for 20 minutes trying to get a good match or I find one and the dude leaves after a set or two.

For example, Birdie's EX Bull Revenger (Dolphin grab) has 25 frames of startup. This 8 frame delay means that you really only have 17 frames to jump or stuff it, which is less than the average human reaction time to visual stimulus.

Both versions have 8 frames of input lag.

You can go into one of the ini files on the PC version and disable stuff to lower the input delay.

This is not something you can do by changing ingame settings.

The game doesn't notice the f until the 8 frames have passed, it should come out like 1-3 frames later, however long it takes for the game to recognize the rest of the inputs. So at worst it's 11 frames before the DP actually starts on the 12 frame, or something like that.

USF4 had about ~4 frames of lag on Xbox. It's really between 3 and 4 frames but I don't remember the exact millisecond. SF5 has around double that amount on PS4, but on PC it's the same as USF4.

It's funny because this whole 8 frames nonsense wouldn't be an issue if people just played on PC, but I guess Capcom gets Sony money for the game being "exclusive"

If you see nothing wrong with a situation in which your opponent and you jump at each other 3 times in a row and then throw tech because you're both doing parry OS jumpins then there's something wrong with you.
Turning jumpins into a guessing game is not Street Fighter, it goes against one of the fundamental rules of SF: jumping is a risk.
