Why is CliffyB so underrated as a game designer? Unreal alone has the best map design ever seen in a video game.

I'm not sure anyone underrates him as a designer, it's just that he's just a douche, made the mistake of making it publicly known and has continuously tried to latch onto whatever is cool or popular in a bid to remain relevant.
The guy has zero sense of identity, only amplified by the whole "CliffyB" saga.
