I would really like a DMC with Sparda in the spotlight. How he was a badass demon general, then how he had a change of heart, rising up against Mundus, and sealin the demon world.
Of course that might require more writing that the writers are used to.

The only thing Itsuno mentioned after 4SE's launch was how he considered giving Lady a spin-off and the possibility of co-op in the series. He even mentioned the Doppel trick on the PS2 where the second player can pick up the clone.
Like I said before, they don't have their own engine anymore and will most likely have to go with UE4. We're not going to see any LDK mode, but I hope we can have more than 5 enemies on screen.

Nero was the rookie in DMC4. He might have tried to act like he was above everyone else, but he inevitably got outskilled by Dante, and others thought of him as just a kid. Donte was just the dumb brute guy that was used by others to do their hard work.

Just picked up the HD collection on sale yesterday. Is the entire series backtracking and more backtracking like DMC1 is? Is that just the remnants of it being a RE prototype? I really liked that Bayo1/2 consists of linear set pieces with lots of fightan.

Dante has always been overpowered as fuck by default. The only reason why he even had the slightest bit of trouble in 3 was because he was much younger and inexperienced, and had to fight Vergil.
DMC4 takes place after DMC1, where Dante surpasses Sparda and defeats the most powerful person in hell. There is nobody else that should be posing a threat to him, especially not in DMC4, where a much weaker Nero is supposed to be relevant.

I think you overestimate how silly Dante really was in 4.
There are really only two moments where he really goes over the top, the Lucifer cutscene and the Agnus cutscene. In fact I think he actually has more serious moments, it's just overshadowed by how outlandish he can act on occasion.

You gotta keep in mind that Dante wasn't the main character in 4. He is made out to be amazing in comparison to Nero to give the player a taste of what a experienced demon hunter is like and get you hyped to play as him. He is kinda like what Zero was in the Megaman X games, if you think about it.

Pretty much.
He was cool until mission 7 or something, but well, he was genuinely worried because a crazy cult of demon worshipers kidnapped the only person he loves to do horrible things to her. He was cool everywhere else, and had a nice dynamic with uncle Dante.
Not to mention that he has the absolute best taunts of the franchise.

Senpai he has no invincibility frames, the only time you cant hit him is when he protects his red gem. Even Zero can kill him in seconds if you use the right weapon.

The charge buster is always going to be the most versatile weapon in any X game, but weapons like rising fire and ground hunter were good. Even weapons like aiming laser, frost tower, and lightning web had their uses at times, even if it wasn't for the sole purpose of inflicting damage.

He has only slightly less depth than X does in 4 only because some boss weapons serve as armor upgrades, If Zero is jump and slash the character than X is jump and shoot the character and that's not the case. Also, he was garbage in X4 if you didn't know how to do the saber glitch.

Not him, but DMC 1 focused much more on building the atmosphere, the whole game feels much more tense and brutal, almost survival-horror like; they even had special anymations to show you just how brutally an enemy is fucking you up if you died. In DMC 3 they decided instead that the combat was the strongest point, so they built the game around it and focused on making it cuhraaaaayzee.
