What kind of environment do you like the most in RPGs?
>>
1) Sunny coastal towns with big docks and markets, particularly ones with a Carribean or Mediterranean aesthetic
2) Snowy mountain peaks riddled with deep caves and ruins, with clear skies
3) Windswept grasslands with little towns and dirt roads lining out the meadows and fields
4) Forests during autumn, particularly at noon and dusk when the light and leaves make everything burst with red and orange
5) Big cities at night with a multi-layered layout that lets you explore at street and roof level equally, well lit by the moon and neon/gaslamps/whatever
6) Sleepy lakeside villages nestled in the woodlands and covered in gentlly drizzling rain
7) Any kind of exotic, flying island or settlement

>tfw you'll never be a cute lesbian spirit who cannot resist her natural urge to be lured to a cute Elf girl, not quite able to understand why you end up being shoved into her nether regions on a daily basis, yet liking it nonetheless.

Floating islands and the settlements of mystic civilizations.

The kingdom of Zeal blew my balls off.

Coastal areas, sprawling plains, and floating places. My favorite setting location is living on another much larger being like Xenoblade.
>>
cyberpunk or fallout
>>
Magical forest every time. Bonus points for giant trees.

I guess Redwood Forest is second.

Forests are great!

Fantasy setting.

Just make a bunch of awe-inspiring areas with cool shit in them. Hidden areas, difficult to reach places, hidden chests and NPCs and items that you need to go out of your way in order to find. One thing I hate about modern games is that every area in them serves a quest/storyline purpose and you're eventually led there by the game. Hide a cavern underneath a hollowed out tree or something and have that cavern lead to the giant underground system that molepeople or whatever use as a city. Then just leave it there. Don't program a quest that tells the players to go there, don't reveal it to the players through flavor text. Just have it there for whoever keeps their eyes open and checks every corner.

Snowy villages, autumnal forests.

Incidentally, I hate tropical/island settings.

I really love haunted mansions and cursed areas in RPGs that aren't overtly crawling in monsters.
>>
>>340408325
Dark fantasy with many gore and blood, cruel enemies, and a main hero with a dark and troubled past who is also intelligent and nihilistic with a wicked sense of humor

lmao

sooooooo dork souls?

Anything with more focus on design and being interesting than hyperrealism nonsense plaguing every game. Wow it's a generic beach and forest, I'm so impressed.
