What is the most fun class?
What is the best class for pawns?
Any tips, beginner's traps or things to look out for?

>What is the most fun class?
Assassin.
>What is the best class for pawns?
Mage, because it's a healslut vocation, and no sane player would actually find it fun to play, so it's the best pawn class by default.
Anyway, sorcerer/ranger/fighter pawns are all solid choices.
>Any tips, beginner's traps or things to look out for?
If you want to minmax though, you'll have to look into vocation stat gains. It's not THAT big of a deal though. Depends on your autism level.
Play fucking warrior u casul
>>339479390
>What is the most fun class?
All of them except mage. Never play just one class, they are all great.
>What is the best class for pawns?
Mage if you don't want to train them at all. But if you spend some time with them training they can be pretty competent with all classes. Only warrior isn't that great when played by a pawn. Ranger pawns are my favorites, they have great accuracy, far better than any human. Sorcerer pawns are great if you play sorcerer as well.
>Any tips, beginner's traps or things to look out for?
Wolves hunt in packs. Go back to the village after fighting the hydra. Do the quest in the forest, even though the bandits seem pretty strong. You can run past them.
I like to play the yellow vocations and have my pawn as fighter. Teach them well and they'll perfect block and even make use of the i-frames in some moves.
>>339479390
assassin with daggers and shield is OP as fuck
>>339479390
Use two-hand swords, get the final slam skill and kill final boss in around 3-5 hits
>>339479390
>What is the best class for pawns?
Basic mage for the heals, sword and board for the aggro grabbing, maybe a ranger if you dont have a way to shoot down harpies yourself.
>>339479390
the strider type classes are the most fun
dont play a mage on your first playthrough
>>339479390

Read that. Seriously, read it.
>>339479390
assassin, swap out your shield for a shortbow, grab a dozen assorted passives from other classes
make your pawns healer mages
there's a couple sidequests that you miss out on forever if you don't do them before reaching the major town, so once you beat the hydra do some grinding and go back to the starting town to take care of them before you do the 'escort the hydra head to the big city' quest
there's a secret vendor you have to clear out a certain mountain pass of ogres before they show up
you should get an item that can be set down as a warp waypoint in the first third of the game. Look at the world map. you should see a castle way to the west with a long winding valley extending to the north. You wanna stick that waypoint at that castle because it's hella out of the way for how often you go back there
I wonder if my pawn has gotten any hires since I stopped playing?
I should pay her a visit...

I need to replay now, I didn't even know what this shit fucking was before hand
Too bad I deleted my old Assassin, I wish this game had save slots

Assassin has become the most boring class to me, next to mage. Strider and MA are more fun when it comes to daggers. fighter when it comes to sword and shield and every other class when it comes to bows. Ass is so safe that I started to play sword and bow, but his counter move made me still untouchable. And all his augments are pretty useless except the last one - but only if you play solo. His physical attack strength grow is nice, but doesn't matter when weapons give you so much more and you could also play warrior and get the same attack strength through the passive skills and a lot more hp.
>>339480303
5 months since I last played, pretty sad. I expected a bit more.
>>339480682
I found it most fun because I could use swords and bows at the same time. Also the blast powder move is hilarious.
I like switching between different bow classes, they're pretty much universally the best.
>>339480750
What level is yours?
>>339480872
I already closed the game but I think 70-80 since I'm in BBI
>>339480682
>Tons of moves.
>Instant Reset.
>Can use anything effectively.
Assassin is fun as hell even if it isn't particularly focused and is the best for first time soloing. Sorry about the shit taste m8.

Most fun?
Strider/MK and Warrior
Best for Pawns?
Ranger/Sorcerer and Fighter
>>339480950
Mine's 200, there's not many people who get to level cap, and there's little reason to change pawns at high levels too.

actually theres so many people at 200 that if you dont rest often your pawn may be impossible to find for other people that dont already have your information
(PC)
>>339480682
you can just get rid of the counter move, and nab passives from other classes that apply to everyone/1hnd sords/arrows/d\-daggers
>>339481101
>Strider/MK and Warrior
Objectively wrong.
Who Ranger here?
>>339481383
This game came out when I started to get interested in archery. Great timing.
>>339481383
I tried but it was really frustrating in the Start when my pawns couldn't seem to effectively protect me from npc damage.
I ended up getting bored and stopped playing the game an hour in,just like every other single player game I've tried for the past 2 years
How do you kill the dragon
The only time I do damage to him is when I'm on top of his chest stabbing him but then he just flies away and 99999 fall damage
Playing as Magick Archer

After he flies away go towards one of the ballista's at the farside of the stage and shoot his heart friendo
I recommend you play a mage until you get to gran soren, a sorcerer until you have the bewt sorcerer augments and or you get bored of it and then you switch to Magick Archer.
This way you are really strong, quicker and you have the most fun and very versatile moveset.
As pawn i'd pick a mage for buffs, heals and cleanses, but you may also want to make a tanky fighter which would deal a decent amount of damage.
>>339479702
>Mage, because it's a healslut vocation, and no sane player would actually find it fun to play
But i play mage pretty often and im completely sane.
Magic Archer is dank as fuck but good fucking luck when fighting against Golems.
>Converting your pawns to the religion of peace and fucking shooting their explosive souls at enemies
GRIGORI AKBAR!
>>339481772
But he just kills the ballistas
>>339482548
What you wanted to say is "I think I'm sane".
>>339482814
If you need to use them more than two times in the final battle, you are doing something wrong.
I kind of lost interest in this game once I found out the order you play vocations in will actually affect your end stats.
Not that the game is very hard, but the fact that you only have one character and that you can potentially gimp it is kind of shitty.
>>339482842
>>339483019
Balanced stats with good passive skills is better than minmaxing stats autistically.
A friendly reminder that DDO exists.
>>339483278
How can you say DDO exists if the western release doesn't exist?
>>339483019
just play in the pc version and get ddda fix and edit your stats and your pawns's stats any time you want
just dont go overboard and you will be fine
>>339479390
Be careful not to get soaked in water.
>>339483260
>Balanced stats
This IS minmaxing.
>>339483019
There's a nexus mod that alters stat progression so that it doesn't matter what you play.
Too bad theres no proper NG+ mode because getting some of the most powerful stuff is compleatly pointless. By the time you get it the games over.
>>339483394
It's called just playing the game. If you change vocations often you naturally end up with balanced stats.
>>339479390
strider/assassin are my favorite classes. fun mix of range/melee, bow mechanics in DD just feel good, and they are the best classes for climbing on monsters which is one of the most unique parts of the game.
all the classes are fun though, id highly recommend NOT minmaxing at all and just trying all of them, or at least a healthy mix of them.
>>339479390
My tip for neverending fun?
Usecheatengineand limit your max level to 60 - not overpowered or underpowered, if you need to you could go up to 80 for BBI
>>339479702
>Mage, because it's a healslut vocation,
having a mage companion to heal is completely fucking pointless. since you can revive pawns infinitely theres no need to heal your other pawns, and you are way better off just healing yourself since the game literally throws healing items at you every 5 seconds. you are way better off just using the last slot for more damage, trying to have a "heal slut" only gimps you
>>339479702
>assassin
>fun
Nice try kiddo
Game was pretty damn fun to play. A shame there is no pvp (even if it would be a complete unbalanced mess) or a co-op mode. Teaming with a couple mates to low lvl tackle the Everfall/BBI would be awesome.

Mage until level 10
Then sorcerer
Have fun facestomping the game on solo
>>339483717
The games easy already so i just make a healslut/sorc because it saves me the hassle of messing with inventories.
>>339483990
healsluts are useless in everfall/BBI, which is where the actual game is, i take it you have yet to finish a playthrough
>>339484105
they arent useless they are just outclassed
having a mage in your party doesnt equal an empty slot
>>339484105
Can you start spelling like an adult first?
>>339484105
Like i said the game is easy all the way to the end. Healslut with legions might is fine all the way through the game.
>>339479390
>Most fun class?
Strider. They have the second highest DPS, the widest variety of tools, and some of the funnest abilities in the game. Any yellow vocation will serve you fine though. Yellow classes are the only ones which can roll, which really feels like it should have been something all classes could do. Add that on top of effective melee AND effective ranged attacks and really the yellow classes just outshine all others in terms of effectiveness, variety, and overall fun. Ranger > Strider > Assassin > Magic Archer in terms of damage output, however Strider really does have the coolest abilities.
>Best class for pawns?
3 sorcerers. People will suggest mage for healing, but items provide much better healing than mages do. I would only use a mage very early game when your income isn't great. People will suggest warrior or fighter for tanking, but you and your invincible dodge roll are the tank. 3 Sorc pawns will sync their spells and shit out massive damage while you tie up the enemy with your flips and shit. Ranger pawns are decent but really nothing compares to 3 sorcerers.
>Tips, beginner's traps, etc.
Rusty bow when fully upgraded is one of the best weapons in the game as it applies torpor very quickly, which makes the target move and attack in slow motion. I generally have my rusty bow equipped unless I'm fighting something I want to disintegrate with blast arrows, in which case I'll switch to a more damaging bow. Rusty bow really makes hanging around in melee against the hard hitters much safer.
It's not necessarily worth having a large variety of spells on your pawns, because you don't want them casting useless shit. On my sorc pawn I only equipped bolide, maelstrom and gicel. Fulmination is really good if they use it properly, but I found this happened rarely.
Warrior sucks. People on this board love it because of its high impact attacks, but the light attacks from a pair of daggers will out-DPS anything the Warrior can do.
>>339479390
>What is the most fun class?
Anything with ranged or magic attacks.
>What is the best class for pawns?
Really depends on their training but I think Fighter pawns are fucking insane if trained correctly and you can never go wrong with a well trained Sorc pawn either.
>Any tips, beginner's traps or things to look out for?
Yeah don't bother with notice board escort quest at all or think you have to complete any notice board quest to complete the game or unlock stuff (except an achievement for doing a certain amount of notice board quest if you care about that) alot of people say don't worry about min-max but imo you should at least think if you want to make a str or magic oriented character as it will make your life way easier come BBI and online Ur, overspecializing isn't a big deal in this game since you can have a pawn of opposite vocation type to offset the imbalance. Also generally magic > str in BBI, if you roll a str oriented vocation like Sin make sure to carry magic weapons because BBi is extremely biased towards magic users, of coarse good pawns will help out too.
