What are your dream characters? Mega Man and Cloud were 2 of my dream characters and they both got in.
I'd also like to see Shovel Knight, Paper Mario, and Geno.
Now I can watch Cloud and Ryu fight each other to death!
Personally? It's a pipe dream but considering how pally Squenix are being with Nintendo lately, I want Sora.
He, Donald and Goofy will get Disney Infinity Smash Amiibos, similar to the Skylanders ones, the amiibos for Donald and Goofy will unlock the Keyblade outfit for the Swordfighter, similar to Inklings and Sora will be used as a fighter Amiibo.

Look, I love the game, but why should Shovel Knight get in over longer-standing Nintendo 3rd Parties? He's too new, only has one game to his name, and is multi-platform, with each platform but PC getting exclusive content. (Kratos, Battletoads, amiibo)
On the other hand, there's Shantae who has an established series, and has come out first and foremost on Nintendo platforms, only recently becoming multiplatform. Then there's Quote or Curly Brace from Cave Story who are way more influential indie choices, and their game has only appeared officially on Nintendo consoles and PC.
Pac-Man and Ryu were my two biggest ones and they made it. Was also hoping for Black Mage but Cloud is a fine Final Fantasy rep too.
Honestly I can't think of any remaining 3rd party character of the same caliber as the ones already in the game that would deserve the spot.

Some sort of Paper Mario+Paper Luigi combo. They use attacks from the M&L and Paper Mario games. Paper aesthetic to differentiate them from regular Mario or Luigi. DownB changes the bro in the lead, which changes attacks.
